  2. Why hasn't someone come out with a Windows replacement? Windows 10 was bad enough with their forced updates. I need a new computer too. I've been been trying to get a custom built. Very hard getting a reasonable cudtom for work. I've been trying for months. So many flakey companies.

  6. OP... every paper prints diffidently. Viewing via transmitted light is not the same as reflected light.
  7. Not to be prejudicial...here is a 'blue light' special. Candid These candid photos like this are very hard to take. I mean really hard...and I'm an expert. That (the hardness) is one of the reasons they are such low Q.
  8. Never saw can chemicals before. Thought they would corrode.
  9. Do you make prints? Try some with cell phone. If happy you got your answer. I don't have a phone cam, but ones I've seen don't make good enlargements. But maybe they got better now.
  10. Court: Harvard can be sued for distress over slave photos (aol.com) BOSTON (AP) — A Connecticut woman who says she's descended from slaves who are portrayed in widely published, historical photos owned by Harvard University can sue the school for emotional distress, Massachusetts’ highest court ruled Thursday. The state’s Supreme Judicial Court partly vacated a lower court ruling that dismissed a complaint from Tamara Lanier over photos she says depict her enslaved ancestors. The images are considered some of the earliest that show enslaved people in the U.S. The court concluded the Norwich resident and her family can plausibly make a case for suffering “negligent and indeed reckless infliction of emotional distress” from Harvard and remanded that part of their claim to the state Superior Court. The judges said the university failed to contact Lanier when it used one of the images on a book cover and prominently featured it in materials for a campus conference — even after she'd reached out about her ancestral ties. “In sum, despite its duty of care to her, Harvard cavalierly dismissed her ancestral claims and disregarded her requests, despite its own representations that it would keep her informed of further developments,” the ruling states.
  11. Lost my SD card a few times. Forget len's cap on with rangefinders. Loaded film backwards in Hassy magazine plus lots of other screw-ups.
  12. I've got LR3, LR4 and LR5...a bunch of 5s. Some are new and never installed. Will these be usable indefinitely? Or is it Adobe's plan to not alliw them to run? If Adobe screws people this way,, maybe someone will make a older version that is broken and won't need Adobe's approval.
  13. I still shoot tens of thousands of photos a year...but with the screen recorder. I do lots of archival work off the internet. <><><><> Scan of damaged 16mm Stag Film DDTJRSGFA
  14. Very few if any. Some things do not involve gear, it is the eye or the skill. Beside, being old kids don't pester for secrets. Kids nowadays like kids and hate old fossilized boomers.
