  1. I don't think B&H would take the lost for PayBoo. If B&H wants to pay your tax they would pay regardless how you pay them and in fact even more glad to do it if you pay in cash. But they require you to use PayBoo and thus I believe PayBoo pays the tax. PayBoo has very high interest rate and if you pay off your purchase in 4 months they would make even at least. If you take longer to pay they will make money on you. Their intereste is 29,99 apr.
  2. Payboo pays the tax (B&H said they pay) and hopes that you make minimum payment and they make it in interest.
  3. Actually auto ISO isn't very simple if you also enable another auto mode which I do often use A with auto ISO. A and S mode are simpler because they have less automation. So the more automation the more complex. They are good but you need to understand how they do it to use it well. I know the P mode algorithm and I know I don't like it. The matrix metering system I don't know all of it. I know a little about it not all of it. I use it and it works fine most of the time but when it doesn't I may not know why.
  4. Now if they auction it off for more than the MSRP then can they give them warranty? Because if they sell them as authorized dealer Nikon would not let them I don't think so. If they sell them as not authorized dealer then they may come with no warranty.
  5. That was what I was afraid of since the intro of the Z9. The Z9 is a great camera and Nikon has a chance to get ahead with it but not being able to deliver them in timely manner might make it unsuccessful. As I posted my concern about this many said all manufacturers have the same problem but Sony doesn't have problem with the A1 and I don't think the R3 is having as much problem.
  6. And that would hurt Nikon and that is exactly what I am afraid of.
  7. Oh automation is always more complicated than manual. The advantage is that they are faster. Your hands can't move that fast otherwise if you have the time manual is much easier. To use automation effectively you must know how they work.
  8. Nothing newer than the Z7 or Z6 or D6. Of course that doesn't include the Z7ii or Z6ii.
  9. I may buy an old Nikon in the future but not a new one.
  10. The Z9 is a great camera but it seems that Nikon just can't deliver it. As far as for me? I doubt that I would buy a new Nikon in the future.
  11. I do not like the optical viewfinder like a Leica although I prefer the SLR finder and not the EVF. So this doesn't solve the problem for me.
  12. That's why I have the SB-800 because it's compatible with all my cameras.
  13. A 35mm f/1.4 lens would be way too expensive. It would be worth many times the camera body.
  14. Selfies because that the only type of photography allowed. If you take pictures of someone from a distance you have to ask for permission otherwise you're in trouble. Even if the law allows you to do so people are still mad at you for doing so. Their pictures should only be taken via selfies.
  15. If I have to choose among your lenses it would be the 20mm AF-S but I feel you have all the FX lenses for a DX body. I would get an FX body
  16. I am not saying to use LF lenses but rather introducing new lens line with the view camera. These lenses won't have shutter like normal large format lenses. Also they do have to cover larger than FF but not anywhere near the LF coverage and should have higher resolution than LF lenses too.
  17. I think third party tilt shif lens for the Z is a good idea. I don't think you need to interface with the camera. Everything can be done manually. Even if meter doesn't work it won't matter much. Using the Z mount without adapter I think there is more room for better movements. Come to think of it, since the flange distance is so shallow someone should make a view camera with a Z as the back. With today high MP large format isn't really needed but a full movements of a view camera would be nice.
  18. The AF-S and I guess it's the same for the AF-P which allows you to manual focus when the lens is in AF mode. Thus the focusing ring is designed to slip so you are not fighting with the motor. When the focus scale stops the focusing ring isn't changing the focus. It slips and doesn't turn anything. This is a different thing from what Ed said that AF lenses can focus past infinity which they do.
  19. Now talking about old cameras I like to have the old software Nikon used to service the cameras. I am sure that at least Nikon has a software package to calibrate the shutter speed as well as meter for the F5. They may have the software for other cameras too. They no longer service these cameras I wonder some how we could get our hand on these software.
  20. I have the lens. It's a good lens for the money.
  21. All modern lenses work on the F5 except the E lenses which no film cameras can control their aperture. PreAI lens shouldn't be used with the F5 unless you have the F5 modified.
  22. If I am rich enough to get a camera manufacturer to make a camera just for me then I wouldn't need a lot of settings to customize it. It would be built the way I want.
  23. Custom settings for example the direction of the command dial, one may like one direction one may like the other. One option I set on my Nikon F5 is to disable P and S mode so I can switch quickly between A and M and never go thru the modes I don't use. Those are just example.
  24. The more custom settings the better. People are different and I would need them to make the camera works my way. You can back up the settings and reload them in case you need to reset the camera to default. My film camera still have some 30 custom settings.
  25. A good meter design would not rely on the battery voltage being constant. You can design your meter circuit that does require a constant voltage but then you would have to include a voltage regulation circuit. Those meters that require mercury battery never as accurate as modern meters that don't.
