  1. Don't know about RAW Power software as it won't run on High Sierra from my understanding. I don know that Apple Photos software is about useless for me processing raw image. Does fine with jpegs but raw it is slow and freezes up quite a bit. So right now am using Darktable for raw processing. Am looking closely at Exposure x6 for a possible work flow.

  8. Just curious if anyone is using Xnview mp software for their managing images? To date, I have been using Lyn to organize my images but am thinking about switching to Xnview MP as it offers more capabilities and appears to be faster in sorting images. Lyn has been good but it is slow on my Mac. I tried the newer version 2.0 of Lyn and like its layout, etc. but performance wise it is much slower than Xnview MP. If you are using Xnview MP I would love to hear your thoughts on it. GQR

  10. Here is a link for more detailed information using linear processing in darktable...
  11. Thank you, Steve, Yves and Gianluigi for your comments. I agree completely.
  12. According to the darktable programmers linear processing is supposed to result in more life-like images. They have a suggested listing of modules to use and not to use to achieve this processing. I am still experiencing it and have had some good images produced. I also have had some bad images result from it too. So, like I said I am still learning.
  13. January 6, 2021 we saw an unprecedented attack on our democracy. I took this image in a past time when things were more peaceful. Hopefully, we will see better times in our near future. Our freedom and democracy is fragile and we have to be prepared for t
  14. Just wondering if anyone is planning to purchase the new Pentax K3iii camera? Myself, it is going to be a wait and see depending on cost and reviews. Nice to see Pentax coming out with a new APSC body but my understanding it might competing in price with FF bodies. Time will tell GQR
  15. Update...the newest version for darktable is now 3.4 and can be downloaded from their website. Have not had time to use it yet but will soon.

    Nefelibata

Nefelibata means cloud walker; I thought this name was appropriate for this cloud image I photographed high in the evening sky.

  19. Thank you, Bruce for your comments. Glad you like my image.
  20. Using the newest version of Darkroom I have been trying to process my images using the new linear options. So far, I have had mixed results, especially with Filmic mode. It seems to be a hit or miss with my images using linear options. Using traditional modes I get pretty consistent results. Anyone else been using the linear modes for processing? And, if so, what results are you experiencing? I will continue to experiment with those modes and maybe I will get the hang of it for more consistent looks. GQR
