  1. My new to me Nikon D2X with a 18-35mm lens
  2. I purchased a 20mm 2.8d off ebay and the seller said the rear element had a few scratches but to my surprise with the flashlight test it was loaded with scratches. The same day I received it I asked for a refund, he's not happy but agreed to a return and refund. In the mean time I picked up a mint 18-35mm 3.5-4.5d and so far I like it.
  3. I have used a Canon 5D Mark1 (which I still own) but I wanted a better flash system which I think the Nikon has and alway's will. I did a job with it Canon 5D, portraits indoor's but something happen and I wound up outside taking pictures with a flash and the Canon had a hard time with it and when I printed it it was a beast to do. So I'm hoping the Nikon will be better, even if the Nikon is a older model it might excel in what I want.
  4. Hi all, I found a great deal on a Nikon D2X camera, for what I paid for it and it's condition (new) I really like it. so here's my question, I want to get a 20mm for it, is there a picture difference between the "D" version or the early non-"D" version. I know the "D" measure the flash distance but is there a difference in picture quality?
  5. Just a update about the 2.8C, I finished cleaning the rear lens elements and put a new bellow's in then put a roll of film in and the pictures came out really great clear, sharp and with great color. The coating scratches on the front of the lens does not effect the picture quality at all. (see photo)
  6. Hi all, Now the Focal point is not repairing lenses anymore, do any of you know where a lens if need be repaired. I heard of two one in Japan Kanto camera, sent a few emails but no answer and another in Taiwan but he only polishes. I would like to know of someone who polishes and recoat's. Thank you
  7. Thank you for getting for the info, I decided to go into the first section and clean out the haze or whatever it was and it cleaned up really nice, I have to go into the rear section now.
  8. I found this thread, if the original poster still has this Rolleiflex let me know if you got the lens restored or not. I just received one myself and have the same problem with the front element scratches and haze maybe (funcus). Still I wonder if I could use it or maybe get it restored.
  9. Hi all, I been working on my 500el and for one thing I'm having problems with is setting the two small gear on the lower right side. I try to set it and I get the mirror to go up but no return. Has anyone here attempted a repair on one of these. Thanks
  10. Good advice thank you, I've been looking at the later models and they seem a bit better build and some take AA batteries!
  11. I have the Hasselblad apart, it seems the problem is the this, when I press the shutter button the mirror and flaps open but then that's it, it doesn't close when I lift my finger off the shutter button no full cycle doesn't close.
  12. I also removed the two side panels to see the gears, one problem I saw right away, there was a screw missing that holds down the large gear if you pop that up everything must of been out of wack!
  13. Yes I checked it again, the only thing that turns is the front lower gear on the right, that spins and nothing else.
  14. Nope no good it just clicks, I did change the position of one of the gears and the motor did open and close the rear shutter's but the mirror did not go down. It's good to know that the motor works.
  15. I received the camera today, while it a beauty, I tried a 9 volt battery and didn't work, it makes a clicking sound when I press the shutter but that's all. The mirror is in the up position and the shutter cocking screw is in the wrong position so I can't put a lens on. I'm going to get fresh battery maybe this one a bit old, I hope that does the trick, any other tips would be great!
  16. I saw that adapter for 6v lithium, the adapter about $30.00 dollars which isn't to bad and the battery I've seen goes from $6.00 to $15.00 dollars. It's amazing that I could make my own adapter for a couple of bucks for this Hasselblad 500el. I also have a Rolleiflex 6002 that needs a battery and looking for that a lithium battery goes for $100.00 to $125.00 dollars. Their a guy on ebay who make the adapter it looks like it's 3D printed that takes three lithium batteries.
  17. Hi, Yes it looks like a big camera but the price was great and would be fun to try something new out. I like the idea of the auto winding in it that should be different. Is there anything wrong with the 9v battery adapter?
  18. Hi all, Well I found one of these on ebay yesterday and the seller dropped it another $25.00 and I went for it. So I know it takes batteries but between a 9 volt or other adapter's that use other batteries which ones work best. I already have a 500CM with a 80mm CF and 2 backs 12 and 24, and a acute matte screen so I'm ready for this beast!. Any thing to watch out for, any tips? Thanks
  19. I've been working on the 3.5F and dug a little deeper into the camera, I did find out that while there's the bracket and contact's for the meter there's no wiring that goes from the bracket to the cell housing if I want to put one in. What I have to do is wire it up first then attach the meter cell and the mechanism that goes into the focusing knob. I might try it later but for know I'll use my handy meter, so I don't have to take the baby apart, I already have done that and it's working smooth and did I say quiet, I'm outside taking pictures and when I click the shutter button I here nothing, a lot different than the Hasselblad's ka-plop!
  20. Thank you for you answer's, I think it's off a bit.
  21. Hi all, I have a Rolleiflex 3.5F and have two screens for it a split image rangefinder and a microprism, my question is when you switch screens do you have to make adjustments when using two different screens? I ask this because when I have the original split screen in the camera at infinity lines come together but with the microprism it distorted (out of focus). Thank you
  22. I received the camera on Saturday and while it needs a bit of love, (used a lot) I took off the cover of the focusing knob and it does indeed have the linkages for a meter to be installed, this is good news because I have all the parts if I want to put it in.
  23. I have a meter a Sekonic so no problem there, it's would be sad that if you have a Rollei that has no meter in it and that Rollei never offered a upgrade meter kit to just pop in and it works but hey it was a great deal 12/24 model needs a clean-up and that's it's I hope!
