I use ZoneAlarm and Malwarebytes on Win 7. Trapped a few for me over the years. Worst virus I found was something that kept trying to update my Operating System despite my refusing on numerous occasions, and necessitating a complete re-install when it did manage to slip through. Fortunately it didn't go up to eleven. -
I think I've got it - it's electronic Marmite. Some people love it, others hate it.
