Caro Gianni, I'm very happy for your image "Más Pobre" being chosen in the POW. Great image! many congratulations!. Glad because there's much effort behind your photographic work, your daily interest in photography and think it's a nice and deserved reward. Not only your work is excellent, also the way you deal with other members of this community, always both enjoying and supporting their photography. Caro Gianni... Congratulations! :) With my best wishes ... a hug! Laura
  3. Caro Giangiorgio, outstanding and worthy images... these last series that play with waves on water and reflections of the sunlight. There's a set of colors, a duality, amazing in each one of them. I try to imagine that to create such a beauty in simplicity ... it must be difficult to choose only those elements that carry the emotional charge, with full force. Thanks for sharing! and so allowing us to admire their beauty. Excellent work! A hug, with my best wishes. Con cariño, Laura.
  4. Caro Giangiorgio, this image, like many of yours in the lagoon is spectacular; here perfection of the elements, situation of birds, it seems as if they had been arranged in a Zen garden. Everything in its most suitable place, gathered all in a subtle and delicate harmony that nothing will break. Therefore, the best to do is what we usually make when we take off our shoes and sat down barefoot, looking in silence the gravel and the whole zen graden. Needless to say more. Congrats, con cariño, Laura.

    Autumnal Bed

    Autumnal Bed

Welcoming the fall!. I have called this image "Autumnal Bed" ... every autumn when leaves are falling and changing their colors, from green to red, or from green to yellow ... depending on their pigments (xanthophylls or carotenes), I feel an uncontrollable desire to swim therein, like a child enjoying in a swimming pool of leaves and I love bathing as if it was a pool of colors :) I enjoy throwing them in the air and looking at the little colorful pieces falling down on me again, the soft noise they make while supporting the weight of my body and their lightness are quite appealing as well. This image is taken in a little corner in my garden, among an ivy and a Virginia creeper or Quinquefolia. As you can perceive throughout my artworks, I'm very prone to use shadows, but occasionally also love getting drunk with colors. Hope you'll like it. Kisses.

    Guardian Angel

Molto grato. Con cariño, Laura.
  11. Dear Tony, the composition of this image is very appealing. The steep slope to the left invite us to follow the path that is lost in the background, and so follow these hikers. Green color wins all the place, very beautiful and the best when we visite these forests or mountains. For me, I appreciate a turn in the road ... at right, it looks like it came to the viewer and going away now at the left, as if there were an opposition and a turn in the direction of travel. That creates tension and expectation. I do not know if I want to see that change because I think of my ramps to get to the top where I usually take photos, it's something different, first, it is always empty, no one, except at the distance, at the top, as if an eagle's nest was: the gatehouse of the forestry agent, which monitors torrid summers in all his kingdom to go well. I have to turn horseshoe-shaped curves and one can easily get a little dizzy, one after another, but ... they must have a lot of magic for those who stop to photograph them, have something special for sure, because sometimes they seem they were a maze of walls excavated in the rock. People in your image are the point that gives the genius to the photo, without them ... it changes much. You knew very well how to catch the moment, so congrats! :) http://www.lauramarco.es/pn/curvas.jpg My horseshoe-shaped curves, seen from above! (Google Earth)

Grande illuminazione in faccia. Complimenti Gianni, mi piace molto. È un ritratto molto naturale. Con cariño, Laura

    Guardian Angel

Dear Tony, I like the interpretation you've made of this image and surprises me as well, in the way, you've internalized all the elements and signals. Of course I know the story of the little boy, a sign that humanity is rotten and is indifferent to the suffering of others. The other day, I had the misfortune of witnessing a fight in the street, several people arguing and shouting were ready to use even their hands and everything :( So, how will people care about the rest of the world? If two people hate each other to death, if there is no peace between two people, who stops to think about the entire world? I think the appreciation you've done about the "guardian angel" is in part considered from a religious sense, as someone "who protects", like religion tells us... it's due to the title of the image. I liked it better to use these familiar terms, stronger and striking than for example: "accompanying fellow" or something like that, more strange to our ears. But it does not imply that will protect ... not protecting, only "present", for good and for evil. As a subtle sensation... that can be found in any detail around us. Well, the shadow is the one of the woman in the image, undoubtedly because it comes on her feet and stretches to the back wall ... born on her feet, so ... is hers. No other woman. However, the shadow is special, it has "a wink" that makes us think about that special presence (angel/fellow), because it really does exist!... I'll wait, if someone discerns the strangeness of the shadow, the reason that leads us to conclude that though being hers, she's not alone. If no one says, in the end I tell myself. Thank you very much for your visit and your appreciation so interesting. Very grateful, kisses !, Laura
  14. Caro Giangiorgio, extraordinary image, beautifully backlit by the sun, where forms give us the key to what we're looking at. The elongated clouds are gracefully drawn around the sun, with all the warmth of this star. The detail of the first bird in front of the solar sphere (with the highlight behind) is very attractive and important to give a sense of movement to the image. Silhouettes, warm colors, the sensation of movement ... speak for themselves in this excellent image. Congrats, con cariño, Laura.

    dandelion

Dear Tony, I can taste in the scene a kind of futuristic flavor, your dandelion looks like a modern sphere designed to be inhabited by mankind of the future, all glazed and perfect. I speak of the future due to the bokeh in the background, which resembles many moons, as if we were in another galaxy or dimension, to increase this sensation help the color of the sky or background and that blue so pure. Defined herbs, herb blended: it relaxes the mind. The lights on the dandelion are extraordinary and brightness as well. I live in a valley and have near home a summit of 1200 msnm, although it's hot weather, if there are clouds up there, it's like traveling to another place. Your photo reminds me to some extend. I'm going out these days, early fall season to take some shots outside, this morning precisely I photographed a spider web full of drops of water, beautiful like pearls moving with the wind, I tried to get the background image and drops at the front of the image as a bokeh. Of course, I admire and learn from your technique, quite perfect :) Your image really brings me to a planet with several moons in the sky, to another dimension, better. Perfect and sublime lights. Congrats, Laura. pd. Thanks for the larger size, a pleasure for the sight! a hug!

    Guardian Angel

I truly believe that there is a guardian angel, who is always with us ... what happens is that we do not perceive it. Neither makes us better or worse people: simply accompanies us so that we are never alone. I do not think it's anything physical, but rather something immaterial, spiritual ... that moves us. Physical objects are just subtle manifestations or vaguenesses that help us to recognize; it could be the doll, may be the silence that surrounds everything or perhaps even the shadow, in this case there is something special in her shadow, almost as if alive :) The guardian angel is something more powerful than friends, because the latter are usually slaves of one another. They're obliged to pleasing each other, in a kind of slavery without being actually felt or realized, but ultimately it is a true servitude. Instead I never have to please my angel, neither it pleases me. We only do ourselves company, helping each other remember that we are still alive, a reminder of our own existence and a reflection of our own consciousness that prevails at all times and situations. Proof that human beings, are not merely a set of cells, but we expand and project around us. The best way to feel our own self-being is to enter a narrow place and stay relaxed for a time. For me, this image is a reflection of how life moves around in a way that can not be grasped visually, it has to be felt, perceived through senses: sometimes it'll hurt, sometimes it'll sweeten and it's up to us to know how to stop and look around. Hence, details are extremely important.

  20. Dear Tony, thank you for explaining in detail the sugar process, it should be very interesting to see the way they proceed in situ. I think you write, interpret and describe splendidly. You can not imagine the pleasure when reading your comments in a language that flows from you, naturally, is like music to my ears. Taking into account that is difficult to interpret what people write and therefore to read and understand the true intent and meaning of the writer and you perceive perfectly the different levels of interpretation. Of course, it attracts me more a religious faith or some kind of personal faith, that makes me believe that we will all be together again. There is a phrase full of comfort of an Argentine songwriter, Facundo Cabral, which says: "You lost nobody; the one who died is just going ahead, because we all are going there. Besides this, the best of him/her, his/her love, is still in your heart. " Thanks for all, I'm learning very much when I read here, not only I can dust off and refresh a language for me, not used in my day to day, but also I fill my head and willingness with pure happiness. If it makes you happy, I declare you knight and my best wish for you is: "always write your words with the same fluidity, either fast or dense, as your thoughts do flow; they should go together and be a true reflection or mirrow of each other ". My accolade to confer your knighthood, including the tapping of my pen on your shoulders and an embrance about your neck, is the following one: - "Rise, sir ... with these touches of my pen on your shoulder, I declare you Knight of the Green Pen" A hug!, Laura.

Dear Tony, at first as I read your comment, smiled a lot, a smile from ear to ear, and then when I got to reread the lines you're quoting again... and that you wisely call "sensual", suddenly I realized that they could be even "erotic" ... and I was not aware at that moment, thus they come directly and uncontrollably from my deepest :) Finally I burst out laughing. Tony, as for me, you've read the image magnificently. The lines that converge in the center, in the subject, very well seen!. Music is very important to me, no matter that I have approached it in adulthood, no matter what level I'll be able to play ... if done for pleasure and to fill up my feelings. I really like the attachment, the red dancer, because it sums the idea up: red, being and not being, movements, elusiveness ... all spiced with music, can fill the heart. Very grateful for your comment, you make me very happy!. Many kisses.
  22. Dear Tony, this pot ... has already cooked a lot of sugar to make sweet candy :) The copper used in cookware is an art, because some utensils are beautifully embossed, and full of brightness, thanks to rubbing. The color of rust is an explosion of lights for the senses. Our sight looks for known shapes, something that identifies what we are looking at... maybe those black spots were parts that touched directly heat or flames. The green color of the crack contrasts wonderfully and its linearity to be covered with the view, is a bonus. In short, this image reminds me that in the end "all ends just giving up", pots breaking and the hardest rock with a single drop, splitting. Are cracks good to occur?... they are "good", physically or spiritually. A reminder that nothing is eternal, everything passes by. Very good texture, congrats! Laura.
  23. Caro Giangiorgio, very good detail and sharpness. Warbler seems to pay full attention at the moment. Its sideways pose, showing one eye is very striking, as if not losing detail of what is happening. The bird contrasts nicely with the background color. That "barbed wire", I wanted to buy a few meters not long ago for making an image, but no longer for sale at least here. About which I am glad, for animals or people that might be damaged accidentally with skewers. I found some meters the end, in an abandoned farm, very rusty and old. Copper wire rusty color adds itself to the warm range of tones in the image, where red eye is king. Very nice chant that of the warbler. Congrats! Laura P.D. Spanish name is "Curruca"

    weaving baskets

Dear Wayne, it's the first time I see this kind of baskets, they seem woven with wool, really can imagine a thousand uses for them at home. The effect of light strokes in the image is quite appealing and lovely, but also the difference in the light, the gradient from the top (dark) to down ... clearer and that beautiful light / central glow in the foreground. I think lights here are key to this image. A wonderful burst of colors!. Very beautiful image, congrats! Laura

Dear Jim, you have a very keen eye for details because I put all my effort and good work there, in the detail of the shadows and lights of the creases in the fan. So it's a pleasure to know that you like them, thank you very much for your visit and positive review!. Very grateful! Dear Chris, thank you very much for your visit to this image, very glad you've liked the way I made it and frame used. Kindest regards.
