1.
Yeah, not really interested in the E-Mount System, it will be about 2-3 weeks in any case for the refund to come through.
But I cannot really see anything in the full frame A-Mount system coming soon.
I think it will be a month, I am hearing rumors that prices will drop.
I am getting annoyed though that there is a real limit to Full frame lenses, I am getting sick of seeing the D or Di symbol which means the A99 will crop the image.

 2.
Yeah, I have some nice lenses already, going back to my Minolta days. I just think that my next evolution with Sony has to be Full Frame.
I take Portraits, and landscapes mainly, Getting more into night photography. So I think the full frame pretty much ticks all those boxes.
It's not so much about "Wow everyone, I got a Full Frame Camera" because honestly Sony among my Camera friends is still the deformed child that people lock under the stairs.
Not worried so much about speed, but the fact that for what I take, Full Frame ticks all those boxes.

 3.
Just got back from my Tax Accountant, and was expecting $100 back, but after all the Rebates and Deductions I am getting back $4000 Aus.
So with my new candy money that I certainly was not expecting, I am seriously thinking about getting the A99.
I currently have a Konica Minolta 7D, Sony A700 and Sony A65.
I did hold one some time ago for a minute, and I know people on here have one. Should I take the dive and get it while I finally have the money. Or stick with what I got.

 4.
Sony, like Minolta used their own type of shoe, then in the later models A99, they have decided to go back to the standard shoe like most other camera models.
The newest high end Sony flash is the standard hot shoe, and I think standard hot shoes will be the way they will be going from now on.

 5.
James Cloud - Check your spam folders, my internet service provider blocked mine, so I had to log into my on-line email account and go to the spam folder there and tell it to send to my email. So yes it does appear that the email will end up in people spam folders.
Sanford - Copy and paste the code just to make sure, because your the first I have heard having an invalid code.

 6.
You could try for a replacement, third party ones I have seen all allow you to half press. But then again it depends on the seller and how easy they are to deal with. I assume it was an ebay purchase?
Because you really are taking your luck, lets face it in Aussie Dollars a Third party Grip will cost you $60 (off ebay), where as the Sony one will cost about $350.

 7.
Yes it normal, the flash still adjusts for crop and full frame
The wide angle will be used from 15mm to 24mm even when used on an APS-C sensor.
You can see this for yourself, use the lens at 16mm without the diffuser and you will see the flash will not cover the image, put in the diffuser and it does.

 8.
Since Steady shot is in the body you can stick anything you want on the front of the lens and it will work.
I assume when you say you say movement, you are talking about the steady shot sensor in the viewfinder which rises when movement is detected?
Well if you are focusing then there will be ever so slight vibration, which the sensor can and does pick up depending on how heavy it is.
Nothing to worry about, my A700 and A65 do this. The reduction works constantly.
Which is why they tell you to disable it when doing tripod shots, because you don't want the sensor making adjustments when it does not need to.
This happens in not only Sony's in camera sensor, but also in other brands vibration reduction lenses like Nikon and Canon.
If the image is moving in real life, then I can only assume that is actual camera movement, because I have never been able to see the Sony reduction ever take place on the LCD or viewfinder. I don't think you can even see it working because it is so tiny and build into the sensor.

 9.
Does it warrant a $300 price difference, I would probably say 'no'
I like my Bokeh, and I would suggest from my experience that the later version is more pleasing to my eyes.
All that said, if you can even pick up the 85mm 1.4 'non G' lens, then you won't be disappointed, because honestly, sure a G lens would be nice, but the non G version is also a remarkable lens.
I assume you are talking about Ken Rockwell Blog? Jack of all camera's master of nothing camera Blogger lol.
He is a Nikon man, he should stay away from Minolta/Sony.

 10.
I have an A65, I don't see it vanishing any time soon. I think the line up from from the top is still Sony A99, A77, A65 followed by the A5x models. And will remain at that for a while to come.
I bought the A65 because 'at the time' I could not justify the extra $500 to get the A77 when the sensor and most of the features were the same.
A65 is still a top camera and I would not worry about it's future.

 11.
Patrick I bought the A99, but never got to use it. I had a financial emergency that happened while it was being delivered to the store and had to put a halt on it, which killed me, the camera store in any case sold the thing to another person a week later. So I am still sitting with my A65, A700 and KM 7D.

 12.
I have the A99, and have used the A900. There is no contest for me, the A99 is a fine camera and I would never consider using the A900 after using the A99.
The sensor is better, and so too is the performance all round. And when you are comparing full frames you may as well go with what is best for your brand. We are not talking consumer brand models and what you can get by with, we are talking pro models and I would strongly suggest the A99.

 13.
Yes 28mm, you could probably find a cheap zoom 80-200. See what they have on ebay and anything cheap or looks good, get.
http://www.keh.com/Camera/format-35mm/system-Minolta-Manual-Focus/category-Zoom-Lenses?s=1&bcode=MI&ccode=7&cc=81129&r=WG&f
Though, here is my 2 cents about the camera.
I assume you bought this camera on Ebay or some second hand place for cheap.
Here is my suggestion, you can pick up a a Digital SLR (Konica Minolta 7D, Sony A100, etc) old models on ebay for pretty cheap these days.
You can then buy a converter and use those minolta lenses. Or simply so with the mounts for the current minolta/sony AF models
You can stick those camera's into manual mode and still do the whole learning thing with digital.
Film is just so hard to get these days and even to develop (at least where I am)
I just think a cheap second hand DSLR would have been more fun, and certainly more convenient.
for example KM 7D on KEH
http://www.keh.com/camera/Minolta-Digital-Camera-Bodies/1/sku-DM029990839330?r=FE
Some Sony Models
http://www.keh.com/Camera/format-Digital/system-Sony-Digital/category-Camera-Bodies?s=1&bcode=DS&ccode=2&cc=80175&r=WG&f

 14.
Sharp images is usually about keeping your camera still.
If you want everything in the image to be sharp, start looking at F11 and higher.
Otheriwse F5.6, F8 will usually server you will.
Invest in a tripod also
