Jack, you could start of series of these "naturally-framed" pieces. You're getting quite a collection. Gotta love that blue dot. Amy
  2. In this version, the fire-escape stairs capture my attention the most (along with the fabulous color, of course). Amy
  3. I am fascinated by that huge shadow. I keep trying to make it "into" something, like one does with clouds. It lends a touch of suspense to the otherwise colorful scene; like Twilight Zone and Mayberry RFD had a mashup baby. Fun one, Lannie. Amy

Lynne, Wolfgang and Lannie: thank you all for sharing your impressions. Amy

Painterly. That facial detail! Very nice. Amy

    Composition

These composition pieces are tactile and descriptive. Nice. Amy

Could be metal, could be plaid. Amy

    Inside

That acid green just draws the eye; looks like a toxic fire hydrant. I like the way the green is picked up in the surrounding "frame" you've created by, well, your framing. Amy

    Storm Coming In

Drew and Jeff: thanks so much for weighing in on this one. Amy
  10. Another one that's full of interesting geometry. I love that pie-slice angle and the "odometer" curve. They go so nicely with the motorcyclist. And of course, the repeating rectangles. Yes, this one is all about the geometry to me. Really nice. Amy

    On the Train

Something about that woman and her cocked head and laced pillow, not what I would expect to see in this setting. Another interesting shot, Jack. Amy

    Untitled

Even though I can see evidence of windows here, I still get the overall feeling of medical photography. "Dendrites" is what keeps coming to mind (even though my head knows that's not remotely accurate). Anyway, this is one I've come back to a couple of times, it is engaging. Amy
  13. The skies are beautiful in this set. I wonder if bumping the exposure the tiniest bit in the bottom part (road and tree-line) would be beneficial? Not enough to lose that early morning feel, but just enough to open a few of the shadows. You really get the feel of early morning in these. Very nice. Amy
  14. Beautiful. I love the fog (dust?) and the subtle vertical brightness of the weeds. The tones remind me of early photography prints. Amy
  15. This one defies words, but is intriguing just the same. The texture that almost sparkles adds so much. Amy

    Mediator

This reminds me of those peg games seen in every Cracker Barrel in the United States. Amy

    Beach Reflection

This is a beautiful use of reflection. I really love the femininity of your work, regardless of the subject matter. Your subject placement is very nice here, too. At first I wanted the top of the "diamond" shape to be included, but that it's not leads the eye and the imagination to fill in the rest. Nice one, Lynne. Amy

    Abstract 26

Thank you, Lannie and Jack. I'm pleased that you like it. Hopefully it's not too much of a nightmare. Amy

    Storm Coming In

Mark,Lannie,Ilia and Jack: thanks to you all for checking out this shot. This is pretty much straight out of the camera (iPhone). It was truly eerie looking weather. I didn't know it at the time, but as I drove home that day I kept seeing limbs and debris on the roads- we had had a pretty big storm of which I had been totally unaware, tucked away in my office without windows. Mark, it is very out of focus. I'm not sure why and it certainly wasn't an artistic decision at the time of exposure. I took it a couple months back and for some reason it kept calling to me as I'd look through my shots. I have always been drawn to soft-focused images. My theory is that this inclination of mine has to do with my being very myopic without correction, and that's the way I am used to seeing the world. That may be totally off base, but that's my story and I'm sticking to it. :-) Amy
  20. I just thought it was a strange place to put a sign. :-). Like, "You're about to be abducted, you'd better start praying" or something like that. Thanks for looking, Lannie. I guess this one is a bit touchy to comment on. I'm collecting a few images in a "Religiosity" file that covers some of the religious imagery that one sees in random places. I'm not sure if it's a mostly Southern thing or not, but we see quite a few here in town. Amy
  21. For me, a toss up between this one and version 4. Amy
