  1. Did Glenn call it a technical team...ho ho. Reminds me of the Order of the Palm awarded to Henry Fonda in Mr Roberts after the laundry room explodes in a mass of bubbles all over the mess deck and sleeping quarters. Not quite as hilarious. Tech team, got a priority list? Care to share? Can I have a banana split while we wait? How about some more babes in frills or BIFs...:) PS Finland is a modern country with high speed internet. You can not screw around with Finns baby.. I need more inspiration. Or more gin and tonic. No matter. Evolution happens. And we are entering the post inspiration era. Learn to enjoy before the comet strike and the eclipse of all eclipses .
  2. Why not barter? Trade use of camera for a collection of Harry Potter books, yard work, baby sitting, house cleaning....it is a new economy with the internet available. Most people have more than one camera. Negotiate. And spring for a lunch date to discuss terms.
  3. Well, I take a biological or evolutionary approach to what makes something get a look, if not always a pop look. Kittens have the large eyes that mammalians are geared to nurture and protect. Boobs are the evidence of mammalian prodigious reproduction that our males cannot avoid. Thus motorcycles may drive testostrone and sex. Bikes with babes will pull in more eyes. Want to sell anything, get attention first. Use the genes already there. For women, a more subtle approach, but I leave that to the experts. Our clothes catalogs have a scent in them as well as photos. and lush environments.
  4. A fixed focal length lens sounds like the choice that will satisfy you the most. I am sure Nikon has one that will satisfy your needs and budget. I would consider talking to a salesperson at an online store -or visit one- that sells a lot of Nikon stuff. New or Used. Nothing works for macro like macro. You will use the lens for orther purposes as well I am sure. I know that Canon has all kinds and prices on its macro lineup and I am sure same for NIkon. No need to spend a fortune. Flower closups work best when you can get right up there.

I always admire the rim lighting effect. Beyond that it has no emotional pull. I guess it could be a yoga pose but then the leotard is missing. Not bad, not much to ponder on that I can see. I think a POTW deserves something to chew on that I do not observe in the selection. To deserve POTW means more than dessert course is what I am thinking. Too bad.
  9. One possibility is what they used to call "cooked film." Film exposed to excessive heat either in the camera ( on a car dash for instance) or after removal of the cartidge in a hot sunny place. Are all the images red colored on the roll, those near the outer layers would show more color shift. Anyway, it is a clear shift in the emulsion layers of the film that is giving the red color shift. Not to be confused with redshift in astronomy of course . Frankly I have not real clue but there are filters you can buy to get any color on the film you like. You do say some of the photos, so heat effect or light leakage are clues that Sherlock would follow up on. Good luck.

  11. It is a good demo of the weaponry and battle armor for sure. Crisp video too.
  12. Squat a little, it is good quad exercise. No reason you can't go through the whole shopping for tripod agony like the rest of us. I own three tripods. One I like the most is the Induro carbon but it cost three bills. A good enought for a mother to love model is not so cheap. As is a good camera. Or, go look for a used model and learn and suffer like the rest of us chumps. Seriously, it is a learning experience as you titrate your desires vs real needs. I do wish you well, sir. We all can give advice. But we all have had the old learning curve. You do not need a stand up tripod, And you do not mention the head, which can cost almost as much. Consider a monopod as well. why not?
