1.
sounds to me like the vacuum is perhaps set too low. If it was the profile, it'd happen on cut sheet too. Are your 'sheets' cut from the roll or are they out of the box ?

 2.
so is everyone. tell me how I can buy a workgroup level color laser printer for $49 delivered if they weren't charging $98 per toner cartridge? And a pack of razors shouldn't be $18

 3.
certainly looks like the shutter assembly is going to need 'work done'.

I had that exact camera many years ago and thought it had a vertical curtain, not horizontal.

 4.
That's Photoshop speak. There must be something similar in GIMP. In Photoshop, the image exists on a virtual piece of canvas (they start out the same size and 95% of the time, you dont mess w/ the canvas size but this would be one of the 5%'ers). You can modify the size of the canvas independently of the image size.

 6.
try creating a Photoshop 'action' of the desired filter and then run the action on however many images you want.

 7.
There are plenty of film 'papers' that *could* work but you know that inkjet ink is water soluble, right?

 8.
it could act as a useful chronology of work/improvement but as far as 'portfolio', IMO thats a bit premature unless you luck out or are naturally good. I'd guess that most of the images you put in will be swapped out as you improve.

 9.
You will have to contact a human at Adobe and see if they will *still* do a 'platform swap'. They used to do that in the pre-CC days and it was about $25, a piece of paper and a promise that you deleted the old software. However, these days, they might not be willing to do that and simply say 'you must go to CC'.
Yes, LR is/was a cross-platform license but PS never was (pre-CC).

 10.
Trying and learning new things keeps the brain 'limber'. Embrace it.

 11.
I can only say that 100mm doesn't seem like it will be long enough. I know a lot of people who are using a 200/2 class lens or a camera w/ better low light performance if they are using 2.8 lenses.

 12.
Google is really a wonderful thing........

http://www.apug.org/forum/index.php?threads/sekonic-l-778-front-thread-diameter.59652/

37.5mm

 13.
strongly agree w/ that. Vuescan can generate awesome or totally crap output depending on who is behind the wheel..

 14.
maybe the focusing screen plastic yellowing with age?

 15.
Very true. The general public doesn't see things the way we do. For us it's technical quality; for them it's an irreplaceable family memory.

 16.
did the 'professional' NOT notice that the sun was in their eyes or chimp and verify or anything else? Seems like the answer is 'no'

 17.
post a couple of small ones here. Pick the 'worst' and lets see how bad they are before anyone can say anything about if they are savable.

 18.
Read this thread........
http://forum.luminous-landscape.com/index.php?topic=107311.0

 19.
Been using Logitech G400/MX5xx and 570 trackball for years. Does seem like N button gaming mice are getting rarer in the marketplace.

 20.
Heck, if you want another D300 w/ <5K on it, PM me ;)

 21.
There was some posting a few days ago that had Adorama selling Nikon refurb 7200's for $769 or something like that.
