1.
On second thought, even if it does try to re-convert, it shouldn't matter. All colors are in-gamut (the printers gamut) so nothing would be done.

 2.
I think it will try to re-convert.

My hunch is that 'Absolute' would be correct in this case which basically is 'print as-is'

 3.
Yes, pls find a way to post the .cr2

 4.
I'm not an Illustrator user but I've seen this question pop up before. Just put 'Illustrator' in the search window (upper right).

 5.
I saw bythom had a review of the new 105/1.4

 6.
here is my collection of documentation. You probably will need to find/buy the $20 Epson software to re-initialize the printer but maybe not. Do some googling on that.

https://app.box.com/s/m21zhqt4a8r0ojatrhxylawb5ci6d76f

 7.
it is almost definitely the ink valve/damper assembly. You have to replace the whole assembly. The part goes for approx $130-170 depending on where you get it and it will probably be another 100-200 to get it installed (it's not that hard to do if you are skilled in that sort of disassembly).
Epson is ripping you off unless they will apply the $180 to the repair. They know exactly what the problem is. It hits many many many 38xx printers.
Lots of Google hits. You're looking for Epson part 1607156.
On the other side of the coin, if you do print a bit of matte, you may just want to keep this one as-is and use it only for matte and get a SC P800 printer.

 8.
Remember that Nikon is trying to cut costs where possible. It would make sense to outsource some repairs to balance backlog and overall cost structure.

 9.
reformatting in-camera is certainly fastest and as Andrew points out, there can be low level issues if you re-format in a PC.
I'm just an amateur and my style is 'look more, press shutter less' so I dont have tons of images in the first place. I tend to leave the card as-is in case something bad happens like my disks all die, house gets robbed/burned etc etc.

 10.
You're going to get screwed on this and no matter how much 'profit' you think you'll make, it'll be lost in trying to get her to pay.
If this was me, I'd send her an overnight Fedex w/ invoice and clearly state that you'll be at the rehersal and all payment must be made then and there in cash or certified check or since she has not lived up to her contractual obligation, you will not be there on the 5th. This woman needs to understand you're not just some flunkie. You're running a business, not a charity or payday loan biz.

 11.
the new ones are very close to the old ones with perhaps a touch more OBAs in the new ones. there was a lot of talk on luminous-landscape back in 2015 when the new ones came out and you can find (google) 'spectrumviz' which is a database of spectral responses of 700 different papers so you can see for yourself.

 12.
While the AF-L reprogram (usually referred to as AF-ON functionality) is great (I use it), the camera setup menu must have a choice of when to fire the shutter. You can tell it to fire the shutter when you 'Release' but you apparently have it set to 'Focus' (indicating that the camera must have what it thinks is good focus to fire the shutter).

 13.
the highest quality levels do *very* little to actually justify the increase in size. This may be somewhat image dependent (fine detail, etc). I'd go w/ 8/10

 14.
It'd be so nice (and readable) if that blogger didn't use medium grey and light grey font on a white background.

 15.
I end up covering the name (old habits die hard) w/ black tape but there is a high level of cognitive dissonance when using a state of the art digital camera (XT2) w/ 'FUJIFILM' slapped across the, er, 'pentaprism' :)

 16.
I've had good success w/ the Nikon Slim CPL II (77mm)

 17.
I've also heard good things about the Leica tripod and it'd be on my short list for consideration.

 18.
You could say the same thing about Windows boxes :D Unstable in 'interesting' ways.
I've only heard good things about the Paragon sw.

 19.
oh, I just read 'external drive' :(

Yea, whatever most others said, if the ext. disk is formatted in NTFS, you will need the Paragon software of otherwise reformat it to Mac 'HFS+' format.

 20.
IMO, more likely that he's trying to save it in a place in the filesystem he doesn't have write access. Remember, this is Unix and ownership matters.
Try writing it to the Desktop which is really /Users/<yourusername>/Desktop
Where are you trying to save the file to?

 21.
You do NOT want to set the display profile to sRGB. Use the one you just created.

 22.
Also, turn off anything that sounds like 'automatic/dynamic brightness control' etc etc (where the monitor starts changing settings).

 23.
My understanding is that even to this day, Windows Photo Viewer is NOT a color managed application.
I'd suggest giving some other (read: better) apps like irfanview or such (I'm not a PC user) and see. Also, when you did the calibration, what 'aim points' (brightness, white point, etc) did you use?

 24.
They also indicated updated lens coatings on the Milvus series
