    "Blasé You"

The expression and lighting on his face are great, and overall this is a nice image. I like the fact that you decided on B/W as well, it works to remove attention on what I imagine are bright colours and maintain the focus on the textures and expression in this.

This is an interesting image so I hope you are ok with me sharing some thoughts. My eye is too distracted by the brightness of the foreground rock and not drawn enough to the boy, especially not to his face due to shadowing. Some selective exposure adjustment would make a great deal of difference. As would cropping a little tighter again to put more balance on the boy. Did you try this in B/W? I think it might be interesting. Cheers

A simple, gentle image that I think is a good basis for some further work. Can I suggest you play around with this in monochrome or B/W and also maybe a little selective exposure (bring up the foreground foliage a touch, and maybe equally slightly darken the lake reflection and bring the shadows/reflections up. I hope you take these suggestions the right way as what I'm saying is that in this image is potentially something really nice.

Very interesting image insofar as it is right 'on the edge' for me in terms of like/dislike if you don't mind me saying. The exposure is obviously well balanced for such low light but I can't help wanting just a touch more detail revealed especially to the left of frame in among the buildings and in the foreground.
  1. Very nice, pleasing image. Rainblow makes it visually interesting and even better are the carefully muted tones of sky and landscape. My only tiny critique could be to suggest to you to clone out the distracting lamp-post at the right. Otherwise this is lovely, and reminds my of my home country Australia.

Am not a fan of pet images, but you have composed this well especially with the chair structure to the right of the cat, and the subject has a bit of character.

I follow very much the last critique. It is a very good reflective portrait, and makes the viewer think both about the reenactment and of the mood of the person. Compositionally you have a strong diagonal upwards-right from the rifle, and an offset downwards diagonal direction from the line of sight of the subject.  Post-processing decisions are very appropriate for this image, in fact I like that you kept it in colour.

The excellence in this picture is in the control of the exposure. How you managed to get the tree and foreground corner so dark, while maintaining a balance between much ligher mid-tones (yet still varied enough to have good contrast) in the background. The reflected colour of the sun works wonderfully too.

  2. Super photo, great subject, emotion and execution. Am currently living in Paris so I relate to these scenes and these styles. Good idea to put a bit of 'vintage' in the processing to make it timeless. Felicitations, c'est tres bien fait.

I really love this image. It is an unorthodox, delicate portrait which is really well thought out and taken. A superb example of deliberate decisions about light and focus.
  3. Truly faeric! This is first of all great vision, and then great execution. By far the best thing I've seen today. I would love to know in particularly how you rendered so well the light rays.

A sweet and lively picture. Well composed with he arch framing and the 3 central kids, and the DOF is just right to keep a good sense of the background without it being distractingly sharp.
