1.
I've just replaced my OMD-EM5 (first generation) with a PEN-F as I was looking for the slightly smaller form factor.
I'm not going to write a long set of impressions but its a really interesting experience. There is a fair bit of familiarity due to commonality in some controls and in the firmware, but it is also quite a different beast.
I'm really appreciating the beauty and the form factor, both of which make me want to pick this camera up and use it a whole lot. Upgrades like the wifi and integration with Olympus app (I know this is common to all newer models) as well as the interplay between the touch-screen and viewfinder are good too. In fact I find myself using the viewfinder more than I did on the OMD.
The number of available buttons and dials is good but I'm still at the stage of playing around with preferred allocation of default functions. Currently (as I'm not a movie shooter at all) I use the record button to pop up my focus target screen (important as I shoot in spot exposure, as well obviously as for focus) and the button near the exposure wheel for exposure locking. Interested in how others have theirs configured.
Overall quite the camera and I'm really enjoying the experience. Paired with the small primes (12mm, 25mm and 45mm is what I use most, with the 14-42 pancake and the 60mm macro also available) it makes for a high performance but exceptionally convenient package.
