Very nice composition and beautiful mood,very nice work

I caught sight of the thumbnail of this one whilst I was commenting on the "Autumn Moon" image, and it really impressed me.  Again the tree silhouette is strong and powerful angainst the vivid golden glows of the sun. The added atmosphere of the misty waters are the icing on the cake!

I can't believe this hasn't had a 7 yet.......well it has now!

Well I must say this reminds me of a time long ago when I lived on the bayou and saw the mist come off the bayou and the cypres tress stood tall.  I have not seen that in many years, not so many bayou's in Western Australia an no cypres trees.  So I am happy to have noticed you rated one of my images and wanted to see your work.  And was very pleased to see your images and that you took the time to review an image posted and rate it... The excellence in this picture is in the control of the exposure. How you managed to get the tree and foreground corner so dark, while maintaining a balance between much ligher mid-tones (yet still varied enough to have good contrast) in the background. The reflected colour of the sun works wonderfully too.

I love this sunrise image as it combines a number of my favourite elements (some still on my wish list). Obviously the common theme of a sunrise but this one beautifully combined with the mist, the lake as well as beautifully composed with the solitary tree.

All in all and excellent shot and well worth the effort of getting up so early...
