1. Why don't you throw out one of your Fs and shoot some pictures and tell us some interesting things about it.. WE lvoe camera porn so if you have some sexy fotos of your F then post away
 2. Very nice job with an old lens. I don't bother translating the math for the f stops. ( I wouldn't know how actually ) They are what you think they should be is my approach. I think you did really well I often get some flare that others refer to it as "glow" Your results are quite respectable. I certainly don'T know the many different Fed models, though I recognize the exteriors as copy Leica II. I will want to look up how they differentiate themselves. Is the rangefinder design copied from the Leica? It seems quite robust. Thanks for sharing!!
 3.
Seems to me th hard bit is opening and closing the light trap. They may also be fussy with the bulk loader. While not every 35mm I have has the the liftable rewind know, most do. I'm still a bit vague how you open and close the trap once you get it fitted to the camera.

 4.
I love our forum.. it's so cosmopolitan. What fun to shoot live music with a vintage Minolta. Through this forum I've developed a want for the an STR 1?? with the lock up mirror. I have a few lenses and lucky me an XD11/XD7 . One of the nicest finders, light and versatile outfits I own. My 35mm has a rear element haze. It costs about 2 stops. So many of us are music fans and guitar lovers... I think we once had a question thread where we all talked about our music/instruments etc...

 5. I'm waiting for his wisecracking.. right here on this thread..
 6. Ooops I wasn't sure What I posted lase week and now I'm trying to post to last weeks thread.. So here I shot last month A little Voigtlaender Vitessa 1000 w/Ä42mm Tessar Fits nicely in the hand and never lets me down though a true "beater" Film ws Kentmere 100 and Pyrocat HD

 7. This series was done by my little Voigtlaender Vitessa 1000 w/42 mmm Tessar. This little sucker always comes through. I did use a yellow filter that a CMC user was kind enough to give me!

 8.
I think the analogy of the classic car is a good one.. You can't be ready for everything. You can sometimes sense weak spots.. But it's the sense of adventure. Once When I took a classic car on a road trip My mechanic friend was astounded and commented "you took that to Harrisburg ( 4 hours away) I wouldn't take it around the corner! " IT does tweak the senses and enhance the feeling if you do get good results .. sure there's more reliable ways to shoot good "vacation" pictures but where's your sense of adventure.

 9.
Excellent results loved that ceiling photo. That should be an Album Cover. What a superb example of this enduring model. I tend to my Yashica D more often out of sentimental reasons I guess. I too have a Yashinon Mat 124 but I tend to ignore it because I don't have the battery although this is easily resolved I'm just too lazy. Mine is the predecessor. It also takes (took) both 120/220. I'm inspired now as I have finally bought a case for it.. talk about gathering dust and seeing your fine results. I have toyed with the idea of selling it..Naaaahhh

 10.
Like the previous poster I always thought this was a reputable camera/lens and ion the right hands it will deliver. I really like the Kodachrome images.. shown. A typical and good match up. The Cintar appears to perform as expected and that was what the folks who paid for it expected.

 11.
Excellent post. Very nicely done. You'Ve shown the camera in all it's raging glory. Sure it'S possible to take great pics with the C3 and many did. I think you nailed it that the most people didn't bother with changing lenses and probably used slide film kept the bar low enough. I've always wanted one and decided recently to buy one although as a gift for a very young girlfriend with a creative twist ( leans toward LO_O ) to give her the real thin. Unfortunately the one received (I paid way too much) didn't work at all the shutter was jammed and parts of the RF were missing too. I still want one for her, but that experience cooled my jets for the moment.
The comment about all successful cameras have their imitators is an interesting point. I can't speculate other than they carried their market(share) and when the whole market went east they lost just like the other western camera constructors.

 12.
That is good news for many with such.. cameras.. I have enough quasi obsolete equipment I was tempted to go for a Super Ikonta b/c the price was so cheap..Maybe I'll need to re-consider in the future if the film is readily available.

 13.
What an excellent example of this fune camera. I'm very impressed with the results you got. The focus is often a game stopper fro many you have demonstrated it need not be. Frankly mo meed to "look into" acquiring any rangefinder aids so soon you do just as well without it! I also love the light any quick response I get with the Perkeo 1

 14.
For $50,00 you have been forgiven...go forth and sin no more. I really like the completeness of the outfit. I know how this rationalization works. You now still have to get a Braun/Steinheil Turret Finder because this one is in a complete set and as an "accessory" you need it ummm extra to use with the orphan Braun cameras you own! right?!?

 15.
Great Pics. I havethis in Black. It is my first 6x6 and it is my favorite . Sentimentally attached indeed. I often shoot w/K2 yellow filter . It came with the camera. Like you I have a few 6x6 but this one is very specail to me! I prefer it above the C or the 124 Mat. Umm the Rollei is in another class I guess!

 16.
I recently acquired a Contax II. Spent too much money on a rather rough example. Long Story. At least the camera works good for a pre-war example. I attended a photo event at a former steel works in Essen. IT has mow become a "park" . I was technically working doing promo work!! So I just shot a little here and there. First time out with the umm new camera.

 17.
Well that with the soap is an old trick for real windows cords (sash windows) that bind some say use soap others say use parafin ( candle wax) . I think this is applying a household remedy to fine mechanics. Perhaps applying this to the silk ribbons when assembling the shutter might help a bit but you imply they break because they're rubbing against a sharp edge ( jagged channel) and no wax will dull the edge. Try to find the jagged channel and file it with emery cloth. I don't know if this is helpful but here's a link where they have some good photos and discuss this silk ribbon too

http://www3.telus.net/public/rpnchbck/replace%20shutter%20ribbons.html
