  1. Thanks for the kind words Julio... I do feel the first two were likely underexposed... this accentuated the clouds... and my motivation to shoot them.
  2. Relieved to see the site back up and running... read some not very flattering remarks when googling...last legs etc. This week I am usiing my Ikona 524-2. I got this a few years back from the "Ebay Classified" .. it was a lousy pciture-- not tested etc... I noticed it was the uncoupled RF model, despite the lousy pic... if you know what to look for 😉! I remember offering the selling price ...as delivered! Voila .. a new camera for me ! There was a blob of fungus direct in the center of the front lens... when looking head on- you didn't see it. So after shooting a rolll... it was very obvious 😞 I managed to clean it relatively easily. I am very happy with the 6x9 negs and so it rarely disappoints. I fear these were a bit underexposecd.. not enough yellow filter compensation. This was Fomapan 100 in the usual D76 1:1 Since I never know what camera I am using...until I am using it... here is my camera porn contribution.. albeit in the wrong thread 🙂 I luckily stumbled on to this filter... and it fits perfectly! I can close the camera with the filter on!! I feel like I got lucky with this one. We've seen this view before...now haven't we? I cross the street, walk up to the river and BOOM.. this is the view. Alstadt looking up river) view to Harbor Similar vantage point as previous...but looking down river! The Oberkassler Brucke Another 'View we've seen before" 😉 I was not going to share, but it did come out the way I wanted it to!" ...Too many pictures
  3. Here's my weekly contribution of too many photos... I bought this some years ago for a reasonable price... after intially shooting one roll..the light leaks were there and I was getting ready to shoot the second roll to determine if my sloppy habits and re-used 35mm cassetes, were the problem. I met my repairman... (to review the lcolordial shutter repair, as now the RF wasn't visible working) . HE reviewed the RTS told me it was a POS and any money didn't justify it. he examoned the focus screen and noted it wasn'T coming out like it should, He also noted the ML 35mm lens didn't focus smoothly had a little bump. After a very long drawn out period ? A year or more, I got this back. He did replace the seals, but then I noticed the shutter wasn'T always working right. It was likely like this from the start. Often the first curtain doesn'T release. If you take a long time between exposures, and you are very careful with the advance, it will fire correctly aboput 85% of the time.. sdo I took this out in the beginning of July... (later I came up with a solution much like the colordial problem...stay tuned!) here are some images from that excursion.. I shot about 19 out of 24 frames. Here the usual APX100 D76 1:1 Home to Bakery to home Most of tzhe pics were done in the nearrby community of .... Heerdt Barbarossa Platz One of the Nymphs at Barbarossa Platy St Benjamins in Heerdt
  4. Thanks for the kind words... No I didn't try to use it with the 50mm lens. I was ignorant of its proper use, but I do have the original box.. more ephermera as use here I suppose 😉 I have the russian 85, and the 135's are among the most reasonably priced Zeiss lenses ... Thanks for the info!!
  5. I had a similar experience with a Minolta X-300. A recent poster was also disappointed with a Minolta?? Indweed just keep on fooling with it... You might just get lucky!!
  6. Back again this week with more thrilling views from earlier this year... I am generally behind... This time I will be featuring my Pride and (new) Joy. The Contax IIa. I've owned a colordial now for over 10 years, but suffice to say it hasn't always worked right, and attempts to get it properly repaired resulted in halfway measures.. albeit never charged but often in-convenienced at times like years?? . A few months back I stepped back from working and now I am a man of leisure. I was thinking I should take this to another repairman and "pay" to have it repaired. While piddling around a blackdial came up with a Sonnar 1.5, with shade and a 35mm finder. All of this for what I paid 10?? years ago for the colordial and a pre-war Tessar. (350€) . I took the plunge. I do like using this very nice gear. My beautiful colordial can do 100th and under, but the three gear shutter has never worked properly. The other aspects were guite good , very smooth and all. The new blackdial is even smoother. I will add (too many images) and will identify which camera lens combo... My usual APX100 in D76 1:1. I give my "what cameras are you using..." ..after the fact. Poor planner too!! The Color Dial with its Tessar.. it does have light fog, but it is generally ok in the right light The Black Dial.. the sender was from this region (North Germany) and wrote a nice message to me 35mm finder and hood on the colordial Mischmasch-up on my windowsill Two post war IIas at the back and the older slrs in the foreground Hof Garten Monument to Heinrich Heine - Colordial Jupiter 8 Hofgarten Colordial Jupiter 8 Askance view Altstadt (OldTown Düsseldorf) Jupiter 8 Statues.. also in the Altstadt (Jupiter 8 colordial) Blackdial with 1.5 50mm Sonnar with yell filter (too dark!) all - rangfinder reading test Two other views were too close, and failed to fill the frame... curse of the RFs Using the Sonnar 1.5 speed here in the shadows. This statue is Wissenschaft (goddess of?) Knowledge Another use of the speed.. this might be wide open.. Street muscianas, good two part harmonies.. drum was tastefully used Schauspielhaus (theater) Ok.. I did alter this image a bit..took a long scratch out of the sky..
  7. @garygreen ...Thanks for the kind words... the tulips was just luck with the light... .. Apropos the church..I went back a week or so later to repeat in a larger format.. but the leaves were there... Spring had sprung. More from the church 😉 .... as I've visited it now multiple times with multiple different cameras.
  8. Thanks for sharing that... I love the sharpness too.. While certain ...well "grain" can be expected in skies, I prefer the overall sharpness to be biting.... you manage to bring out the best overall regardless which developer! That said.. the quest goes on ..and I love these ..well experiments 🙂
  9. Always late to the party... family obligations had me busy on Friday and all-day Saturday. I am running my backlog list of cameras and films. Here is the very fine Nagel-Kodak Retina IIc. These finely built cameras are an honor to use, their quality of build is astounding. The whole roll came out quite nice, Kind of dark no Yellow filter IIRC? I really should use this more. Agfa APX100 in D76 1:1 . Image removed by moderator. Only post photos you have taken yourself Aurin Haus - Across the little park before my house/apt Rheinufer This is March.. note hte "high water" Nice House... wih it were mine.. I think?? The Oberkassel Bridge Kyffhauesr Bldg, I'm very surprised the whole bldg made it...with a 50mm lens?? Antonmizus Kirch Church) from the back, only visible in the winter 😉 Yupp Rangefinder Ok!
  10. Not too shabby for an amateur!! Very Nice Indeed. I was very impressed with my 100 year old B&L Tessar. I will need to patch the bellows there too. It has been more than a few years that I've pushed any film through it. Probably next year... I hope!!
  11. Wel Well Well.. all the talk about the Kodak Signet last time around... I actually used my Signet (again) last week as it was so hotly discussed. These were however, done earlier this year... The usual straight scans D76 1:1 .. will add a pic I did using the 4x5 Pacemaker Speed Graphic. The only one that came out halfway presentable (more on that later) Triumph Bonneville A hidden Wine Cellar....(redid this pic last week..like I tend to do..waiting development Fresh cut... Obviously on its last legs! Same (similar subject-view as with the Pony) I keep trying to get a counter pic for the Winter Scene I have.. close but not really biting (contrast) enough My backyard ..not terribly sharp but shows the nice coverage this 44mm lens has... This was the 4x5 Speed Graphic ....not sure what the vignetting is from.. two? years ago this wasn't so much the case.. but now all images seem to have it to a certain degree
  12. Now I see why the English still refer to Drugstore as the "Chemist's shop"
  13. I will also divest myself of some TLRs.... and keep the T I have, and the Yashica D. Up on the website shortly will be the Yashica-Mat, and a Yashica C.Another TLR I have the Photavit Photina Reflex the only reasonm I will keep it is that I spent so much time and energy fixing the camera after using naphta to ease the focus, but ruined the shutter. It now works great! While I don't need it... nor really want it.. so much of ME is invested there!
  14. Indeed ..nice work with the Kodak Deux..pour deux linese_ n'est ce pas ? Lovely grandchild! BTW will likely be using my Argus 40 after a long hiatus.
  15. You men tioned the B settings does lock the mirror up. What, if anything does the mirror do when not on B Does it move to "up" when on B, but otherwise down? You said it fires at what seems to be the same speed. Does the mirror move ? I susüpect what everr the default setting is.. ie when battery is dead .. may well be the flash setting too!
  16. Ahh brethern spirits I am once again ready to share some images I made eralier this year . I visited Venlo over the Easter Weeken with a friend. These pics were made with a camera RickD also posted recently?? This is the very nice Nikon F301/N2000. This was given to me from a friend in the US who went digital, and knew I was still doing film so he gave it to my brother for me. Lucky Me!! I am using the Kiron 28mm that was 1 of the three lens that came with it. I like its brutish good looks and solid heft in the hand. I use this against all my other dodgy meters as the base reference. Noted that these are quite dark, probably due to yellow filter and too little sun This was my usual D76 1:1 using APX100. Apologies straight scans ...as usual.. Posing with his Uncle The Train station Working my way down to the city center I suppose this is the city's wappen Sidewalk cafes as you might expect to find The triangle Contrasting Old and new architecture I used to work as a Mason for a few years. Love to look at good brick work Reaching the edge of the Old Town.. newer businesses on the edge of the river Quite crowded with German Tourists... Theiir spending is always welcome ;) City Hall in the background I probably should not even post this.. as it's badly under exposed .. lovely brick work that can't be seen Excellent 3D artworks. One of many.. need to see to enjoy! Is this a specific character from Asterix-Oberlisk... or just a Roman figure of sorts _ IDK
  17. I had an OM10 given to me as defective. It had allegedly never worked after it was dropped. IT was some years ago.. so I don'T remember what it was doing.. but what John said; I swapped out what I thought were good batteries.. with new batteries.. seemed the dame until bumping the test switch gave a faint "peep". so I then I went after it a bit more. I think the mirror was stuck up. After a few more test fires. it finally went "Kerplop" and it'S been fine ever since! Do go after the batteries!!
  18. Yes indeed! This era from Kodak is kind of cool! Thanks to your bad influence, with the Tourist.. some months back, I now have one coming from my sister in the USA as well as a Kodak 35 (previous model to the Signet I think, wih RF) I just saw a very nice Stereo from this period too..I think https://www.ebay.de/itm/374758088837?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=707-127634-2357-0&ssspo=Vh1x4i6ZTpa&sssrc=2047675&ssuid=N0DSyxAbSB2&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY Sorely Tempted !!! Yikes! "I guess both Anastons/Anastars and Ektars are 4-element Tessars." While I'm quite sure about the Ektar, It wold be nice to get a confirmation whether one or both Anaxxx are too
  19. Again your time capsule wonderful like new exemplar..floors me! While mine is functional, it far from yours!!
  20. It is indeed, I believe when I got the Signet (Inspired by https://www.photo.net/discuss/threads/kodak-signet-35-in-california.5525893/#post-5908765 ) , I was reminded of the "Pony" that I likely broke, so when I came across a second example, I gambled on getting it working, BTW the innards of the shutter are well documented by a Flikr contributor. I can't seem to paste the link without a picture of the camera appearing .
  21. Coming in at the end.. perhaps exposing my ignorance but could it be that 4x4 (127) film has the proper numbering? I never have done anything in this format. If your testing shows this is the number of exposures, than indeed, you would lose (waste) some valueable film. Maybe you could find a system to recoup the space usin a wind technique?
  22. I believe I have one of these with the "Ektar" I've got a Kodak 35 coming from the US (my sister sent a "few" things 😉) Don't tell JDM
