Thanks so much Daniel. Yes, it is her mother...she has a 2 year old sister too that I really wanted in the picture...peeking around the older sisters shoulder...but that was SOOO NOT going to happen! LOL

Great pose and perspective here! LOVE it. Miss you too...I'm hangin' out mostly on Flickr? Similar to this...just more personable...and I have a great group over there...we are all photographers from our small area in Florida. We get together for photography mixers and everything. Let me know if you're on flickr and we'll hook up over there too! Looks like your little business is doin' pretty GOOD!

yes, I don't disagree that this does look "cheezish" (like she's saying cheeze) but, it's actually her very onery look letting me know that she's NOT going to sit there for more than 2 seconds. You can see she's pushing on her knees to hop out of the chair (hence the photo title "Little Stinker". I was pleased with the overall tonality of the image as well as the lighting and clarity. I do understand that the expression is "cookie cutter." I think mom will like the "sneaky" little smile in this image.

Practicing with Apeture Priority mode w/ NO flash getting outdoor

catchlights.....and a little dimple grin to boot. I was SOO upset

though when I realized ALL of my playing this day was shot in ISO 800

    EEEK!

How very sweet of you to write down these instructions. They are very easy to follow. I'm excited to play a little on the other images from this shoot. Thanks so much! Sandy

Three-month olds are some of the most difficult subjects to

photograph. They can't sit up and it can be hard to get them to

react to antics to make them smile. This shot was one of the LAST

shots from the session. Proof that persistance pays off!

  1. I think your final result was well worth your time and compliations! Looks like a 3 light set-up or maybe two with a reflector. I'm guessing maybe you were firing remote flashes from the pop-up flash on the camera. Just doing some guessing based on the catchlights in her eyes. Your focus is tack sharp and composition is appealing. I'm not a fan of washed out color...but it works for this image, especially if it's the look/feel/mood you were going for. Let me know if I was anywhere close on your light setup! LOL
