A great example of almost directly lit scene. I usually avoid such lighting but I think this is a great example of "breaking rules". It creates contrast and sense of minimalistic. The wall texture also makes it more interesting. Thank you. for what I have learned from your picture.

Love this! The F/G is not out of focus. It is in focus. The underwater rocks look like this may be because the water is not completely still and the expose time is long. So this is a natural unavoidable effect. But to my taste the vegetation looks oversharpen. Or this is a jpeg artifact? Thank you
  1. Thank you, Stephan, I took this picture in early winter morning, 2012 from my bedroom window, @105mm. Sadly now this view is gone. The trees grow too fast on Pacific coast.

For myself, I noticed such phycology phenomena: when I take a photo of a natural landscape I think this will be forever and I could make this picture again and again in the future. But it is not true most time. Global warming - one example. I cannot re-do most of my winter photos. These landscapes are gone or have became so exceptionally rare at least for my life span, So shoot it, shoot it as much as you can.

Thank you, Giangiorgio. Always nice to have comment from you!

More ospreys on the way. They have three babies now. They hatched about three weeks ago

Thank you, Giangiorgio for warm comments. I feel happy that I live in British Columbia, Canada where I can easily take pictures of these birds. On some seasons in some places they are counted in hundreds.
