As the Ottawa River floodwater peaks a lone Kayaker practices his
skill with the National Capital Buildings in the background.

Lonnie: thanks for the critique. The shutter speed was limited by the need for DOF with the buildings in the background. However, I did take a photo one second later with a better view of his face - but slightly more motion blur. I don't mind the blur on the water droplets which gives a sense of motion, but the face is a little less sharp on the attached. Regards, Tony

My wife and I enjoy storms because they speak of the majesty of God. This photo reminds me of the tornado we lived through two years ago and the incredible power that brought enormous trees down all around us. Great photo, nice perspective.

I caaught this beautiful fellow just outside my door.

Keith, thanks for your comments. I think you are right about the balance of the stem versus the blooms. As more blooms appear I may be able to correct the balance. I am trying to capture the flowers from both sides and create matching profiles. Regards, Tony

Just passing through. A few Bohemian Waxwings stopped for
refreshments on my neighbour's crab apple tree. One of my first
captures with my new EOS 1Ds mk III. It totally outperformes my old
EOS 5D.

Beautiful! Reminds me of Wales. Nicely composed - would look great on my wall. Tony

Johanna: I like the character you captured in his face. Peaceful and yet powerful. Reminds me of my dominant male labrador, Simon.
