Another very powerful image. I think the flag is perfect. It ties the forgotten old veteran to the United States. Hopefully, our next president will change directions. Unfortunately, the damage has already been done.

Makes me wish I had a time machine so I could go back to those carefree days of childhood. Now, I live the carefree days of a retired old goat. It was different as a child ... so innocent. Well done ... the expressions on their faces tells the whole story.

Very powerful! It amazes me that in such a supposedly rich nation, we have so many homeless. Maybe we're not so rich after all.

Such a charming little guy. Nice composition and use of depth of field. The detail in the fox's face is terrific. Well done.

I'm glad I stopped by and saw this photo. You were definitely in the right place at the right time and composed it nicely. A little tweaking in an editing program would add a little punch ... such as what Antonio posted. Sometimes that's just a personal preference and this looks very nice as is. Good work!

I've seen so many boring flower photos here recently, but this one definitely stands out from the rest. The background is quite unique and, in my opinion, gives the image a dreamlike quality. Well done

I lost a treasured friend today. The little dog who used to lay his gentle head upon my knee and share his silent thoughts with me. He'll come no longer to my call. Retrieve no longer his favorite ball. A voice far greater than my own has called him to His golden throne. And though my eyes are filled with tears, I thank Him for the happy years He let him spend down here with me, and for all his love and loyalty.

Sorry for your loss.

Interesting point of view. It makes it look like she's flying. Nice use of depth of field.

This reminds me of Pete Townshend of The Who and how he used to smash his guitar during performances.
Another wonderful photo.

This is terrific! Mom looks so proud of her little ones. You've made my day.

Disturbing and unique. I should emphasize the disturbing part. This is creepy ... I like it! The woman appears to be in great anguish and the baby looks totally evil.

I think Pierre said it quite nicely ... and in bold letters too. Larry, this really is beautiful. Light, composition, exposure, DOF, and colors are all top notch. The foreground makes this so much more than just another pretty landscape. I like the way the foreground flowers are on a slope and not on flat ground. It seems to add another dimension to the image. Good work.

This appeals to my morbid side. What could be worse than getting a bullet between the eyes, then being decapitated? I think more blood on the steps would have been appropriate ... yes, more gore! Regardless, I find this image to be creative. On the disturbing side, but create nonetheless.

This caught my eye right away and not a lot of photos do that (not even nudes). The yellow flowers in the foreground add a beautiful splash of color in just the right place in the frame. I tend to agree with Chris regarding a little bit of space on either side of the flowers, but it really is a minor detail and doesn't adversely affect the overall quality of the composition. The rock spires add interest to the background to compliment the beautiful foreground. I haven't been to the Alabama Hills in several years, and I've never done so for photographic purposes. Maybe its time I did.

Yes, it is possible to take a good photo with an inexpensive 4MP camera as you've just proven. A while back, there was someone here posting some beautiful photos taken with a 4mp Canon S400 point and shoot. You have a very nice composition and I especially like the use of open space on the left side of the image. It gives a sense of distance. I'm not sure if the horizon is off a little, or if it's an illusion created by the distant land mass. Good work.
