  1. I love it! The central glow spreads out, so subtle on the untouched snow. Glad there are no footprints!

I take it you did some HDR type work on this, either bringing up the shadows in a high DR image, or multiple shots blended. In any case it was very well done, looks very realistic, leaving the dark shadows on the sides to frame the image. Very peaceful and beautiful spot.
  3. When we set out for a rainy morning walk on Kalalock Beach in Olympic National Park I wasn't expecting much photographically. As usual in such situations I still grabbed my Sony RX100 just in case, and umbrella also allowed me freedom to shoot in the constant mist and drizzle. I was happy with a number of shots - most converted to B&W due to the lack of color on this dull day.

    Morning Fog

I like it as is, but wonder how it might look cropped to horizontal, and taking out the black man made things (can't tell what they are) to put more emphasis on the birds.
  5. I would crop off the bright lower section, but the upper out of focus branches are what makes it for me (of course the sharp head is the clincher). Very painterly.

    Great Egret

Most excellent! Great composition. Love the neck and head reaching for the sky. I gave it a 6, but just my niggle to try it a tad brighter to bring out the white in the wings a bit more.

    architecture

Very nice composition. I'd like to see it a bit brighter and perhaps a tad more contrast to bring out the shine in the chrome railing.
  8. After a clear day I didn't anticipate much of a sunset, but a few clouds nicely cooperated.
  9. This is one of a sequence I set my A7rII to make at sunset on a spring evening. I didn't give it long enough to finish the movie though, so I've had to process all the pics then import into iMovie to create the video.

Very nice. The clouds make it.
  12. Another goodun, you certainly have captured the Paloose in all it's moods.
  13. I was in this very spot last week and tried to capture these flowers, my shots don't measure up to this!
  14. Evening from Steptoe Butte, Paloose WA.
  15. Thanks for the comments everyone. I can't believe I've never driven over there after 20 years back in Washington. No climbing or skiing I guess (I tend to be single minded!). Photographer's paradise though - Steptoe Butte is like being in a stable plane with a 360 degree view. I really appreciated my new Tamron 150-600mm that allowed me to zoom in on interesting abstract elements of the landscape from up there.
  16. Taken from Steptoe Butte, end of April 2016.
  17. Thanks Jack, this is one of my favorite plants in our yard. I like to shoot it before slugs start in on it.
  18. Spring tulip bloom at Tulip Town in Washington's Skagit valley. Whitehorse mountain in the background.
