  2. Pano shot with my RX100 on the hike to Casidy Arch in Capital Reef NP.
  3. Taken at Bryce NP - I slept next to my camera while shooting a time lapse, then woke to rain. All was well.

  5. Thanks for all the comments. David, I like it in color also, but using daylight balance the mountains are a bit blue-green. If I wanted to get the birds sharp I should have shot at a higher ISO/shutter speed, but I barely saw them as I snapped a couple, then they were gone.
  6. I much prefer this one to the previous picture (where I can see the line of the GND filter in the trees). Thanks for bringing back wonderful memories of climbing there years ago.

Thanks for the larger version. Well executed, but perhaps not correctly titled since it looks like this is well after sunrise, just cloudy or a ridge behind blocking the sun. I'm a sucker for sun on the mountain with dark clouds behind shots like this.
  8. Got this near my house in Lake Stevens WA. Sony A7rII, LAEA-3 adapter + Tamron 150-600mm.
  9. Calm late summer afternoon at one of my favorite close to home mountain lakes.

I'm afraid this one doesn't grab me. The sign is just a distraction, blocking the MW, although taking it away wouldn't make for an outstanding shot either - just a typical tree horizon. Perhaps I'm growing jaded with so many nice star pics out there now. To create a truly great MW picture really takes some planning for an interesting foreground - something I continue to struggle with myself, but it's sure fun trying.
  11. I loved using my tele zoom to find abstract compositions of light and shadow in Lower Antelope Canyon.
  12. I've been working with some fading hydrangea flowers this week. These were placed on my old flat bed scanner, then juiced up with Nik Vicenza.
  13. These are all from the same plant! The flowers change color at different rates in the fall, making for a nice variety. I gathered as many different shades as I could from a neighbor's plant they were nice enough to donate, placed them in a box and shot this.

  15. I agree with Bella, great image that needs a bit more tweaking to separate the mountains from the sky. You'll loose a bit of the dramatic contrast in the clouds, but it will be worth it. I also prefer the noiseless sky and would work on that.
  16. North Sheep Gap Mt. reflected in a tarn, Gothic Basin, WA.
  17. Great title for a cute shot. I esp. like the out of focus area behind the model. I might crop a bit off the bottom.
  18. I find the heavy vignetting distracting, esp. in the sky.
