  1. <p>I have used Rodinal/R09 since I was in the darkroom (1967). I am still using it but in 35mm format only for slow- and medium speed films.<br> Rodinal doesn't work in the optimum way for tgrain type films, however Acros 100 is maybe an exception. The disadvantages of Rodinal are more grain and speed loss. The advantages are the sharpness and acutance, especially on classic cubical type films.   2. <p>Rollei Ortho up from 2014 is Ortho 25 film from OrWo Filmotec production exclusivly for Rollei -Maco.<br> Before August 2012 their Ortho film was coming from Efke/Fotokemika.</p>
  3. <p>A zip-lock bag some Silica Gel inside in a package, original plastic film boxes and put them in a freezer (-10 till -18C). -10C is an optimum temperature to store films but most regular freezers are -18C. Put a label on it that they are exposed for not mixing up after one year. Especially for 120 roll films take care not to have moisture between film and backing paper.</p>

The RPX25 has a different clear layer. Maybe from OrWo Filmotec compatible with their NP15 emulsion.<br> But this film is great in R09/Rodinal.</p> <p>Here an example from RPX25 in R09/Rodinal 1+50, 11:00 minutes at 20C.</p> <p> </p>
  5. <p>Indeed, old enlargers are going for free but actual production enlarger still costs some money. I would go for a more modern type in case you need some extra parts to upgrade without problems.</p>
  6. <p>Part C is containing the Phenylene Diamine for the C-41 developer and this part can be kept for 8-12 months with Protectan gas. When it is going to Purple you can not use is any more. The rest can be kept over more then a year.</p>
  7. <p>In Germany I would look for a Dunco II 67, Kaiser VP for 6x7 or 6x9 or a Kienzle 67 enlarger. All products which you can still get parts in case an enlarger is not 100% complete. They are all very good and a second hand should be around Eur. 150,- without optics. For a good Rodenstock Rodagon 50mm and 80mm or equivalent Schneider Kreutznach you should be succesfull for around Eur. 100,- Then you can do everything from 35mm till 6x7cm roll film format.</p>

A very good infra red film available in 135-36, 120 roll film and 4x5".<br> Here an example with the Yashica Mat 124-G with <strong>Heliopan RG715</strong> bay I IR-filter.<br> I am using now a Heliopan 40,5mm RG715 on my C.V. Bessa III 667 or my FSU RF cameras.<br> Expose E.I. 6-12 with this iso 200-400 film.</p> <p> </p>
  9. <p>This film was meant to develop in a C41 minilab and made via RA-4 some quick neutral B&W pictures. Well this market is dead so this film has no future apart from the fact that Kodak can not make small batches of film.<br /> XP2 however has the same feature but has been made to print via standard B&W (MG) paper. This market is small but not dead. Further due to the very light Orange mask XP2 can be scanned easily with ICE mode on.<br /> Both films are based on C41 and have a large lattitude in exposure.</p> <p>About the future of films: I am more concerned about the availability of chemicals to make films in smaller (non big industrial) batches because when suppliers are stopping producing it the film manufacturer has to do it itself and then the price of the film will maybe doubled and it will come to an end quickly.</p>
  10. <p>You only have to take care of the minimum amount of concentrate for each 120 roll film. For Rodinal/Adonal/R09 o.s. it is around 5ml/each film. So in the 500ml Jobo 1520 tank it will just fit for 1+50 and two 120 roll films.<br> Also do not forget to use the Jobo Red clip (included in each Jobo reel #1501 or #2502) to prevent an overlap of the two roll films.</p>
  11. <p>So far my info reaches Adox bought the Rodinal (brand) name. CPP&S was the last supplier of genuine Rodinal, before the plant was own by A&O and before it was Agfa Photo. In 2004 Agfa Photo (Photo division) was split from Agfa (Gevaert).</p> <p>In the mean time Tetenal is making Rodinal/R09 in Europe. Compard KG is doing the distribution and filling up, I think now. Maybe also for Impex/Adox and probably for Foma, sold under Fomadon R09 (NEW). Foma changed from the old Calbe R09 to Rodinal R09 around 2007/2008. It is also possible that their Foton/Foma chemical plant in Poland is doing it.<br> I have two small bottles genuine <em>original Agfa Rodinal</em> 125ml left. The youngest is from 2003, the other even some years older.<br> I am also using R09 o.s. / Rodinal, So far the differences are neglectible, even measured on my Heiland TRD-Z densitometer in combination with the (Heiland) TAS film processor.</p>
  12. <p><em>30S Stop</em> is a regular minimum time. You can check your <em>Fixer</em> time by testing the <em>Clear</em> time of the films, mentioned above.</p>
  13. <p>Indeed for Fiber/Baryta prints the dry down effect is known but for a regular film development, it is how it is. If you have any fog or less good fixed film however you could have above mentioned problems.<br> The fixer capacity is also less for Tgrain type films compared to any regular cubical type B&W film: About 60%.<br> Not efficient fixed negatives are looking a bit milkey. You have to re-fix immediately with new fresh fixer again and complete the regular film wash and wetting agent step afterwards.</p>

  15. <p>Yes, it has to do with the intermolucular space. THE reason you ended up with a bit more then 5 Ltr.<br> Not a real big problem but if you want you can re-calculate the exact volume back when using a 1+1 dilution. But the deviation will be neglectible in terms of logD of the film.</p>
