forrest_andrew 0 Posted October 28, 2008 my first post after a long absence...taken just over a month ago on a backpacking trip into Jasper's Tonquin Valley. the morning began very misty (and cold) and it was only after waiting for over an hour that the mist cleared enough to reveal the mighty Ramparts across the lake. all thoughts, comments and constructive criticisms are greatly appreciated. thanks for viewing! carlwakefield 0 Posted October 29, 2008 The light in the foreground and the blue pushing throught between the clouds with the mist makes a really excellent shot. Great mood and light. Link to comment

kurt2006 0 Posted November 13, 2008 Andrew, this is amazing. The pale blue glow UR balances the warmer colors of the foreground. The detail of the snowy mountain faces adds a lot of excitement but the clouds and fog calm things down. Excellent composition. Link to comment
timzeipekis 5 Posted December 8, 2008 This is nice, but I do prefer, not only the panoramic crop of the b&w version, but the visual impact of it. The latter version is a bit more dynamic, visually. Link to comment
iancoxleigh 0 Posted December 9, 2008 Well, I think this is the stronger image overall. I do have an affinity for the panorama crop of the B&W. But, I like the tonalities and the colour here better. I think it creates a more engaging image -- less graphic, but more lasting in its interest -- and a stronger emotional response from the viewer. I will agree with Tim that the B&W is more "dynamic" visually -- but, I don't think being more dynamic in necessarily better and here I prefer the quietude here. Both images are among the best landscapes I've seen this past year anyways -- you can hardly go wrong with either. Link to comment
