  1. I guess there is just no accounting for taste! :)

This was done with a 15mm fisheye on a 5D using 1 580EX via sync chord with a mini softbox velcroed to it. I underexposed the background on purpose. Shot in maual mode. That's about it. :)

    Thanks

But I think your color looks really off. Was this intentional? I did a quick Black and White of this photo, and in my opinion, it works better. See what you think.

This is excellent. Good composition, DOF is good, his pose is terrific, LOVE the dirt on his pants too!

My suggestion is this: It looks like your shadows could be much darker, a little more contrast and a nice frame to set everything off. That's what I did, I hope you don't mind. It took only about 2 minutes at the most, but I think it's worth it.

You may have to open my image in a new window to compare. For some reason my uploads never seem to be in line.

Anyway, nice work and thanks for sharing.

  2. I corrected their faces in under two minutes, granted I didn't do the best job, but you get the idea. I may have even taken out too much yellow.

You may need to open my image in a new window to compare to your original.

  3. Why do so many people always think the bride HAS to be the focal point? This is about the whole bridal party, not one person in particular. There will be plenty of shots of just the bride and groom anyway.

    Nice job.

hmm, I think you may have focused on the wrong kid! I would have zoomed in tightly on the kid on the left, as he is doing your typical "I'm SO bored with taking photos" look. I think he steals the attention from who you actually focused on. I would say if the kid on the right is your main subject crop the other kid out as they don't really "need" each other in this shot. Also, I think you could really punch up (not literally) his face with some dodging and burning. Right now it looks very muddy and dark with not much highlight or shadows to speak of. You of course would have to go into PS to do it, but it may be worth it.

    My two pennies. :)
