stevie_ward 0 Posted June 21, 2007 not a difficult photo to take... how could it have been improved?? Link to comment
toddlaffler 0 Posted June 21, 2007 I think this will work much better as a square crop (cropping from the bottom right). This should give you a better leading line with the water leading to the boat. Right now all that sand in the lower right isn't doing anything for you. Also check your horizon, it looks crooked. You my also want to try a dramtic Black and White conversion as well to see how that looks. Todd Link to comment
toddlaffler 0 Posted June 21, 2007 I opened your image in PS to show you what I meant, and I noticed it need some contrast/ "weight" to the exposure. I did a quick 5 minute job with it in PS including the square crop. See what you think. Todd Link to comment
justin setchell 0 Posted June 21, 2007 I like this photo, nice use of negative space. I think Todd is right about the horizon thought, maybe straighten it out and give it a bit more contrast. Maybe a B&W conversion might be cool too. Other than that good job. Link to comment
stevie_ward 0 Posted June 21, 2007 Todd Thank you for your comments and also the 'alteration' you put up for me. I agree the added contrast adds a lot to the photo and the leading line is better when cropped.. I have never manipulated any of my photos using software and try to take the best I can at the time. I realise this is making things difficult for me but i will try to do so in the future. Thanks again for the comments Link to comment
colecaj 0 Posted June 21, 2007 Agree with the earlier comments; here's a version rotated 3.0 degrees, cropped, and with a couple minutes work in levels on PS. What do you think? -- cacj Link to comment
