Amazing building and fairly permanent tribute to the architect, builders and naughty landowner that vaporised the wine! The composition is excellent and the sky and coastline run the eye back to the dominant anyway lighthouse. Very nice Colin.

Yes Colin! a little bit of serendipity in a photograph always helps.

While I did enquire in person at the Rail Office at what time and
from which direction this Vintage Steam Locomotive would be
travelling, so I could get a nice setting, the info they gave me was
incorrect and the loco sneaked up on me from behind. I guess the
moral to the story is to double check any info given to ensure it is
right!

Thanks for the kind comments every one. George, there were chairs placed around the perimeter of the hall for spectators and contestants that were that were not dancing. I sat myself down in a conveniently placed one, that offered a good perspective of the hall, for a while. The Kodak DCS 520 I used for this image is a rather large and impressive camera. People presume that because you hold it, you can use it correctly, and exhibitionists will act up for you unbidden on occasion. This particular couple came up real close every time they passed me, posing really. I did also capture images of other couples and the flash did not seem to bother anyone.

Nicely balanced image Hiroya, simple, almost a duotone, stark and strong. Well seen, a Haiku photograph.

'MMMWhooooooooooo,s a pretty girl then??"
You seem to spend a lot of time with this cow Ilkka, is she your girlfriend?

"I don't give a rats ass if he is your mate!" said the Taiwan Beauty Snake as he gulped down Harry's pet white rat.

Some media details please Floris, Oils and a palette knife or trowel? on what surface? Done with your unique panache. Excellent.

Donald Duck as a baby! Perfect timing.

Excellent freaky stuff Eugeny, a succubus and an incubus having a tiff over the prey. I hope they are not friends of yours!!! These two look much sinister pieces than the lovely little witches, who have cast a spell on me.

According to the EXIF info embedded with that original file, the shutter speed was 200th sec, aperture f22, Miles. Thanks for the nice comment!

Great eye and reflexes Fred, and that shark is one big poser!

You can read his mind Mark, "I'll just have a little slurp of water to whet my whistle before I eat that photographer!" sublime pic.
How many frames do you have up on your NEW 10D to date?

very well seen and beautifully photographed Mellik

No colour available sorry Santi, this one was taken on HP5 Plus Ilford, a B/White film.

While there is some compositional merit which is improved by the suggested crop, which removes the worst blown highlights, the image has little else going for it. It is unsharp ,with blown highlights and is far too contrasty.
Non constructive praise will not help you develop as a photographer Maria. Replacing that zoom lens with a couple of better quality Sigma's would be a good start.

Beautiful. Are the little Russian witches friendly Eugeny? If you send me a couple, will they make me rich, if I am kind and keep them well fed and warm while they zip around my dwelling and community? I think they've cast a spell on me.

Nice classic image

Agree with Nestor Botta.

Thanks for the clarification Martin. again, cool pic!

Stunning image Professor. What species of insect is the black one. He/she must be an extremely aggresive beast to subdue and then lunch on a Praying Mantis, a voracious monster itself. I reckon the EXTREME thrillseeker fly is just enjoying watching the PM getting rolled! (You didn't glue him there did you?) ;=D
