aaah, much nicer. I can see the whole picture now. ;-) Anyway, it's a really great abstract. There's lots of motion going on. It is a bit much to figure out the anatomy of the bird itself, but there are some nice shapes going on. I'm not too crazy about the color palette. Good work, though.

I'm very happy with this shot. It really captured what it felt like. And it was done in basic
black and white with no cropping. Comments/Ratings appreciated.

Reminds me of a Hokusai woodblock print. Nice colors.

Another from the series... I thought this one had an iconic look to it. Perhaps like
an old painting. Dutch light, almost. Anyway, I'm keeping these unretouched. Any
thoughts on the streetlamp? I thought it more upsetting to the composition to
crop it all out, and partially might be worse yet. So I left it in. What do you think?

Highlight area on right is a bit too hot IMHO. Otherwise, really nice light and texture.

At first glance, a very striking image. Interesting architecture, and good use of color. However, I'm noticing a lot of very heavy-handed, if not sloppy, retouching. Burning or selective darkening in particular. The results of this kind of ruin the effect for me.

Oh yes, one suggestion. Maybe next time you should consider using a fill flash to open up some of 3/4 tone detail. ;-) Regards, Mark

I think I'd have to be an astronomer to truly rate this properly. However, since astrophotography is relatively rare on photo.net, this rates high on originality. Also, it's sharp, clear, and, as far as I can tell, nicely resolved. While it's not as grandious as a nebula gas cloud, it has a nice charm of it's own. So, aesthetics ranks pretty high as well. Nicely done, would like to see more.

Another from my seemingly endless series of candid photos of pedestrians in
Times Square. Ratings/comments appreciated. Thanks.

Upload too large.

Great light here. Nice angle too. Really like the lights on the sides.

Hmmm. Vastly underexposed. Not much to see. I think it's only a chair.

OK, the spider had the good idea. But, you got the good photo!

Yep, I like it much better. I can focus on the tower's reflection.

Thought this was a nice catch. I like the expression on her face, it's mysterious
to me. What do you think? Ratings/comments on this or any in this series' folder
greatly appreciated. Thanks, Mark.

I like this one. Shows the photographer, and why he's there. Kudos.

Wow. Fantastic light. Love the ground, trees and the clouds just above. I find the sky shape at top distracting. I think it would look fantastic with the top cropped in somewhat, as an expansive horizontal format.

IMHO, the best of the series. Good composition. I like the addition of the twine as well as the drape of her shirt. The highlights are a bit blown out, and her left hand seems, to me, a bit odd cropped like that, but overall a good photo. I'm tough on nudes because there are so many mediocre efforts on photo.net, but this is a cut above. It's not quite defined somehow, which is what I like. Kudos, and keep up the good work.
