Excellent portrait with a strong stare enhanced by her proud way of having her chin slightly upwards. I like it a lot. Good background and good lighting, also.

This is excellent - Very lovely lady.

Have you tried sepia toning the image? might look good also.

Hasselblad / Zeiss never fails....:-)

Beautifully soft, sensual tones, and a tremendous grace and nobility make this seem more like a courtly oil painting than a photo. Pity you weren't around in the 18th century: I think you could have picked up a lot of work (and saved a lot of people a lot of bother). Bravo.

Yeah, and what is a portrait?

I think looking at that picture one has all the answers - all have been said all has been photographed - NOT!

Very, very well executed portrait. From styling to print tone, this seems just right for the subject. Lovely.

An elegant portrait. Was it really done in 1972? Then that 500 would have been relatively new, right? Very good lighting effect. As someone else said it's great equipment too. I know I wouldn't trade my Zeiss glass for anything. But it's more the eye behind the lens. The rest of your portfolio is telling.

Bruce,

I misspoke. it was a 500C Hasselblad and the shot was really done in 1972. Rita and I were coworkers in a commercial studio and we were fooling around (in a photographic way)in the studio on our lunch break. Styling was Rita's everyday outfit.

Stunning model, fantastic pose, flawless lighting all come together in a perfect shot...combine that with a flawless print that transcends time, a mark of a great photograph, and youll have an image that will be appreciated as much 30 years from now, as it was 30 years ago.
