1.
thanks for the responses. Mike, that's a good idea. I think I will wait for a copy to come up on one of the known sites.

 2.
Thanks a lot for the responses. I had problem with Pentax 67ii which I got from Keh.com and I had trouble shipping it back to US from India for repair , as I had to wait for someone to take it across. They did repair it .
I stay in India and have a relative in US to whom I have the stuff shipped to and they bring it over when they come to India. I did not want to trouble them if the customs process is tedious / expensive.
Another challenge is it's difficult for me to return in case of problems within time period.
saw an ad for lens . says good condition , but hood cracked. when I asked dealer (its a store) , they said its lens without hood. ( wondering if hood crack is due to lens impact ) . what do you guys think ?

 3.
Hi, is it a good idea to buy used lens off e-bay? I normally buy from bhphoto, adorama or keh. I am concerned about the lens quality when buying from e-bay. I got only a projector from e-bay and it was luckily in good condition

This model is not currently (pentax 67 lens) there on those websites other than e-bay.
A few people have suggested buying from Japanese listings.
what is general customs duty if shipped to US and is payment process complex? I have a relation in US, but do not want to trouble them too much.

 4.
Hi, would it be possible to use this in leaf shutter mode with flash and extension tubes with pentax 67ii?

I am wondering if it might be possible to shoot macro after attaching flash and pentax 67ii grip on pentax 67ii body. would it be heavy or bulky ?

 5.
Small typo. After setting required aperture on aperture preset and aperture ring, do I need to stop down the meter before shifting the lens ? The manual says that it is needed for Pentax 67 prism finder. Will this apply for Pentax 67ii body when used with AE Prism Finder ?
thanks in advance

 6.
Hi, thanks for the replies. The infinity focus part slipped my mind.

 7.
Thanks Harold. That was one thing that I was thinking about.

 8.
Thanks, that explains it. I have the AE Prism finder. Do I need to set aperture to required number , shift the lens and then take a picture. The manual says that one needs to follow that process for the 67 prism finder. I guess it applies for AE Prism finder too? I have pentax 67ii body

 9.
Dan, the EOS 3 does autofocus at central point with f/8 effective aperture . I have used the 400mm and extender combination for taking wildlife photos for a while.
I was trying to see if extender and extension tube could be used together? I found an article saying yes, but not recommended.

 10.
Hi, on the automatic lenses in Pentax 67 , does the manual mode serve any purpose other than depth of field preview ?
I am wondering why it has both aperture preset and aperture ring? if aperture ring is set at biggest aperture, would that not give fully open view?

thanks

 11.
Hi,
I have a Eos 3 film body and shoot bird pictures with canon 400mm f5.6 ef lens and canon 1.4 extender?
1) I have the 25mm and 12mm extension tubes and was wondering if it would be a good idea to use them with the lens and extender to get little better magnification?

thanks in advance

 12.
Hi, I shoot with film bodies ( EOS 3 and EOS elan 7e ) and canon speedlite 550 ex.
I am new to flash photography and have shot very few macro photos.

1) when shooting with flash , will camera's meter or flash's meter determine exposure?
2) will metering work for very small subjects like insects ( I heard that the flash would not be able to meter) ?
3) I was told that aperture mode would not work with insects and I would need to use Manual mode.
4) If I use canons extension tubes with canon body, will the flash read the exposure correctly ?
5) Using manual mode, does one set required aperture and set shutter speed as camera sync speed when using flash ?
thanks in advance

 13.
thanks for the link. those are very lovely photos

 14.
Thanks Edward. Larger images and long working distance would be advantage of MF over 35mm?

 15.
I tried viewing Ms. Vicki's flickr stream, but its not open to public and am unable to send mails either

 16.
Hi, I have 35mm equipment and take few macro photos ( I have shot more of birds, animals, buildings). I am recently trying to get into more macro (insects and maybe flowers too).

I stumbled upon the macro large format thread and was wondering how macro on 35mm and medium format compared.
I have a canon eos 30 , eos 3 in 35mm . In medium format , I recently got the Pentax 67ii along with the AE prism finder

 17.
I did not find the 35mm twin slide carrier for the Mamiya Pro cabin 67z to be very useful. It masks off the additional area and the projected area (lit area) on screen is very small.

 18.
Ordered them online (gepe) and they shipped from Germany . I believe that it is not available in US

 19.
Arthur, thanks. I already have an idea on apug. I am not too active there. I finally got the gepe slides from germany. They ship from germany and can be ordered from Gepe online. I believe that they are not available in US ( 6x7 version)

 20.
Mary, thanks I will check the link out. I appreciate it. I shoot with film and am not into stacking or any software manipulation.
I believe bellows would be useful for stationary subjects only and not moving subjects like insects?
With insects and hand held macros, unless lighting is good, I believe that flash will be required?
perhaps a ring flash may help.

 21.
Thanks, it makes sense . checked my Pentax 67ii. The manual mode is giving me depth of field preview. The exposure readings are different in Auto and Manual .
Is depth of field preview the only purpose for manual mode on the pentax 67ii lenses.
Dan, I got the Pentax body a few months ago, had a problem with it and got it back from service only 2 weeks ago.

 22.
I went for a macro photography workshop and field trip. I was shooting insects and did not use macro rail nor tripod. I shot handheld with extension tubes on 100mm macro lens and used flash sometimes. I did fine focus by moving myself or lens forward .
Is it possible to use bellows without tripod ?

 23.
Harold , nice photo. Which lens did you take it with and is it a full frame? I am trying to understand if there is a crop factor. I use a film body. Did you use any accessories like extension tube or closeup lens or bellows ? . It looks quite sharp . How did you focus?

 24.
1) what does automatic in automatic diaphragm mean? In context of automobiles, I understand what automatic and manual transmission is .
