  1. Kelly,

Thanks for the valuable info, I'll take that as a caution allert on this issue. However if buying from store I don't know where to go cause not so many local store here carry those even none.Ebay is one of few choices I could go and I know we have to be all aware on Ebay, I usually ask the sellers many things such as warranty before I can confide myself buy theirs. But dealing with individual is another story, and I don't take persons who sell as is only (except if they sell for really cheap). BTW How can you tell that those lenses have been misplaced? or changed? with my naked eye I couldn't tell but the good thing I live in OC,CA and go to Mr. Fleenor is my option on this. Thanks and the search has begun.

  2. Folks,

I'm getting addicted I just acquired 3.5F/T4 Plannar, and now I can

not stop and thinking to get another TLR.I know I was asking the FX

earlier but still out of my price league so I would be looking for

the older F series. I wonder between those 2.8, do you think E and F

series would be much different? in lens coating, sharpness, etc? If

I can get late F model would this be better? and the serial number

what should it start? 24***** or 28***** or 3******.Thank you for

any informative post, I can not wait till I get one.Have a nice

    weekend everyone!.

  3. Steve,

Really dunno anything about those posting policy so I appologize to the host (Mr. Bob Atkins). Anyway that's just a big confidence that Canon will buy out Nikon with their petty cash well who knows?.Nikon been collaborating with Fuji, Kodak ( at least those two working extensively to built camera with Nikon mount).

I know Canon don't need such thing as they already eat up almost DSLR market nowadays and now Kodak will try to get some of those chumps with the latest DSC 14/canon mount. Cause their Nikon counter part is heavily loss with 1DS and now MrkII.

Well, I do wish they will make such a lens so more enthusiast like me will be more happy with choices to go wide,Cheers!.

  4. Just curious, how this TLR compare with the older TLRs such E,F,

etc? does it have better body and lens built? are they sharper, more

contrast, etc? and for users of this TLR (FX) what kind of

photography you do mostly with the camera? street, portrait, etc? or

only to be a collector item?.Man, their price is just way expensive

(around $3500), and if one could justified with the price and be

satiesfied with one lens only camera that is awesome!.

  5. ED, you definitely hit the point that MF is in jeopardy somewhere in the future and yes Rollei still is the best MF out there IMHO. I only could wish that they would make their own digiback instead 3rd party but will it make the price down say under $5k? and again it's very tempting to have those 35mm DSLR toys (IDS, IDmkII) for their price compare MF digiback. Sure scan would be more cheaper but buying film and processing make the cost factor even higher.I think to get the diopter seem too late now as I just made deal to sale my integral and waiting from MIke of Ctrades on my AF kit. Thanks again gentlemen and have a nice evening!.
  6. Hi Folks,

Due to eye sight, I've decide to upgrade my 6008i with AF model. I

need to know as I'm looking for after market or USED one but I have

no idea of this camera price value if bought used. I see one on Ebay

but seems that the reserve is bit high and I could get the new one

(no lens) for $2800. Another question is, is it that bad on the

market of this camera so not too many been using it? Should I

consider 645 from H1 or Contax, but again I will miss the 6x6, man

    it's tough.

Also questions for real users of this camera, how's the AF work? I'm

planning to keep my 90 APO in case they won't release the same lens

in AF model, or should I just go with the 80 AF?. I mostly do

portrait and landscape occasionally. I keep my sight on180 AF but

not sure if gonna get one for now (I've asked the 60-140AF and I

guess I opted out that one). Thanks for any infos guys and really

    appreciated.

  7. Hi David,

Small world isn't it? and the answer is absolutely yes it is the right filter size. You might want to make sure on Rollei website Rollei-USA.com and you'll see that the filter size is 95mm.Again sorry for the confusion on my personal email to you about what lens are you using for the filters ( I have no idea that you also use 90 APO symmar).Oh about a specific info you can go to www.2filter.com and you'll see that they highly recommended the Kr3 filter.See you soon and have a nice day!.

  8. Rollei 6008 AF from Mike Ctrades, what a nice person he is(my eyes getting older so AF would be much help) as my main camera with the thought of getting 1DmkII (as I own canon lenses already) soon after for my digital needs. No way I could afford any digiback for now at least the one that is compatible with Rollei.Anyway I'm selling all my manual Rollei gear on Ebay for now you might want to see it's under "maxx9photo",worth to look.Cheers and 6008 AF here I come!
  9. Hi all,

I've been concerning that on the forum lately has been many threads

that discussing about digital VS medium format, I'm not gonna start

another flame here, instead I just would like to know how's the

possibility of the major manufacturer such as Hasselblad, Mamiya,

Rollei etc would anticipate so people would not migrate totally and

go with 35mm DSLR.I'm sure that one solution is to make an

affordable digital back for all camera that available to adapt such

thing so they won't loose many their loyal market. price as you know

for MF digital back is way up there $7500 at least (Kodak DCS ? I'm

    not sure myself).

I myself still stick with my Rollei gear eventhough the envy of how

easy and convinient those people with DSLR without worrying of film

and shoot as many as they want and see the result on spot while some

of us as film users start worrying how long MF film will gonna stay

in production for us and post production cost like processing and

turnaround time of the processing itself.

At least one MF loyalist like me still wish that someday the

digiback will hit bottom price under $5000 so we as MF users would

still be proud that we are a different breed/style. And hopefully

it's gonna be 1-2 years??? big wish isn't it?. Just a thought guys

no more than that,Cheers and long live Medium Format!!!.

  10. Steve,

For the extra 3 million MP and full frame 35mm CMOS , yes it is worth every single penny.BUt if you do most sports and photojournalist or anything with fast action photography no it does not.As simple as that IMHO.

  11. Once again and again no camera takes better pictures, it's the photographer period!. What kind of photography style are you into? these two are in different field but for B&W I'd go with Rolleiflex 3.5F, way "cheaper" to achieve good high quality picture than the newer GX.Hassy has lots of applications this camera can do but for me my Rollei 6008i and 3.5F will always go along side by side.
