After all there are not very much sunset on PN that only show the sky maybe it is too obvious, but I like the shot, incredible beauties and colours that the nature has given..thank you for your kind comment on a picture of mine, Jean

Very nice as it is.... with a strong potential of compostions just by cropping differently, I havent read all the comments, but this is the obvious thought all of us can have. This said I'm sure you havent just taken one single picture / or played later on on cropping yourself.... Jean

Bill I forgot one point, the exposure was 1s, Jean

Bill, the moon shape is real, it was not full moon and that is why it is not fully round, About the effcet on the trees I did not change the sky in fact the effect is due to the solarisaion filter, and I agree that in most of the cases it will not give the expected effect, but here I used it because it gives the realistic impression of the trees backlighted by the moon. Finally the moon was taken in an empty sky (only few clouds- some visible on the right side) the rest of the picture been fully black, i have just added the two pictures. jean

No rating for such a rich composition! I do not understand (every body is blind today...) The red framing is not a good idea, keep the balck and make it bigger (just my taste..) Jean
-
I agree with Bill, do not center, the is a nice condition for a good picture here, you can even improve it without returning and take another shot, I would suggest 1) to crop the picture to left (so to eliminate the disturbing rocks,
2) to give more contrast
3) to give more saturation
Next time you shall try to shot from a more original position to create more impact, try very close to the tree, do not hesitate to bent or even lying on the ground (isnt it sand anyway?). If you want to give the feeling the tree is alone maybe it should be smaller in the composition and with more empty space around it.
I hope this help, let me know, best wishes, jean

Bill I like it, but you know me, I cant control myself and try to see how this could be done even better. Did you try other compositions, there is obviously a hudge potential here and maybe I would also have tried something more simple with the curves of the stairs and the river on left...but maybe you have already done that?

Craig, I'm a big fan of reverse reflections, it gives a kind of sureal atmosphere, I have myself many but I noticed that most´look to quickly and do not see them really. I think I will make a folio with all my reverse reflections and just call it reverse reflections....

Tom, thank you for your gastronomical comment on one of my picture, I got my smile of the day..by the way I had a look on your boomerang page, it happens that I also build some from time to time, but now more and more rarely, I will be back and look at it more in detail another time...
best wishes, Jean

Peter this is an amazing scenery! maybe a little detail only, but, I would not have centred the house, Jean
-
Very good result for the condition given! I like the composition,

I like the lines, I think the light is as it should, I would just say that you could have made the composition more effective and simple by avoiding the houses and elements on the right side.
If you have time have a look on my picture sent for critic earlier today, thanks, Jean
ps I like to rate but I get an error message from the server, Ill try tomorrow
