Mike Gammill
Greetings all and welcome to our new 365 day thread. And many thanks to everyone who contributed to last year's thread, I look forward to seeing everyone's images. I'll start with a shot from a Maxxum 5 with the modest but capable Sigma 28-80 f 3.5-5.6 zoom. Film was Kentmere 100 processed in HC110 dilution H. Focus set to manual and aperture at f 6.7. Shutter set for 30" My attempt to use light to write "2023" Happy New Year!

bruce_z._li2
@rick_drawbridgeHi Rick, I like the low angle of light and possibly a bit of mist in the background, both of which accentuates a bit of loneliness for the empty chairs at the station. Nice start of the new year!

Make a cardboard stencil Mike, and just flash the torch behind it, then walk out of the frame with the stencil and wait till the 30" is up.

rick_drawbridge
Beautiful image, bruce _z._li2 ! I can smell the salt... We've had similar weather down here in New Zealand since before Christmas, though not so severe. And there's more due tomorrow... For the 17th. bruce_z._li2
Thanks Rick @rick_drawbridge. Now the weather all cleared up, but I might start to complain of less dramatic photo opportunities... I like the rendering of crystal (both transparency and light) on the HP5+. How do you like Delta 400 versus HP5+, in terms of tonality?
