myrnaroy
I am selling a Pentax K1000 with a 50 mm lens. I'm not sure what to ask for it as it belonged to my late husband. Any suggestions would be really appreciated. Thank you.
BeBu Lamar
You meant he passed away? Please don't sell. Keep it some where. It's worth nothing money wise.
myrnaroy
Yes. He passed away at the end of Nov. 2016. Okay, good to know. Thank you for your response.
hjoseph7
eBay would probably be your best bet...
g_richards
Sorry to hear about your loss. I used to own a Pentax K1000 and took many black and white images with it. As someone else has already pointed out you probably won't get much for the camera and lens. You might consider donating it to a local school. Those cameras were ideal for learning the basics of photography. Best wishes. GR
John Seaman
Actually the K1000 is very sought after, especially in nice condition, having attained something of a cult status as many were used in schools and colleges. Definitely worth putting on Ebay, I would hope to get something like £80 for it (in the UK). But I would sell it with its original 50mm F/2 lens if you still have it, not with the 28mm pictured. Sell this separately - as it's a Pentax-A lens it will be in demand to be used in manual focus mode on Pentax digital SLR's, as the "A" lenses support automatic exposure on these. Jochen_S
I agree with John above. - The Pentax K1000 is currently the most valuable of the basic, back in their days affordable, film SLRs. Check ebay for recent auctions or others adds. For me auctioning unknown stuff off (without reserve price) worked fine so far. Biggest advantages: I didn't have to care about what things might be worth and also knew whoever bought it wanted it.

bebu_lamar
Even though the K1000 is overpriced it's hard to get $100 for it.
