ted262
Saw this article and reflected on why things are getting so tough for professionals. I haven't even tried getting credentials to shoot a show in ages. This guy isn't helping make it any easier. Karim Ghantous
Wow. After being told, "no flash" he still uses it! What part of 'no' is hard to understand? You could probably (just) forgive an idiot fan for using it ("but muh ISO noise"). But an experienced photographer? Not cool. He tried to rationalize it but that was weak sauce. Some photographers love flash, while some never use it. Both approaches are fine. But really, it's not hard to put the flash away, is it?
Robin Smith
I agree with Adams: Sale is a bag of it. Robin Smith
Spearhead
It's not clear to me how this affects other photographers, everyone knows he was in the wrong but other than the incident with Beyonce, I haven't ever seen photographers in general be affected by actions of one photographer. He was clearly in the wrong and a jerk about it. It's worth noting that Adams is a jerk in general and music photographers generally don't like him. JDMvW
I think the problem could have been avoided altogether if BOTH Adams and Sales had worn blindfolds. :|
Tony Parsons
Might have improved the music too. BTW, why was Sale using flash from (his words) 2000 feet away ? How would it have improved his images ?

Jochen_S
Dunno. Is one disobedient photographer really able to make things (even) worse for the rest of the established or professional crowd? - I assume that little issue aside: Venues and artists will still remain interested in publicity and pictures, especially when they get them for free. - I have no clue how far annoying security will go. "Sorry your enthusiast body has a built in flash, you are not permitted"? - I'd doubt. Established venues have more leverage! - Who wants to shoot just one show there and be banned until they change owners? - I suppose it takes at least half a dozen concerts to build a hint of a portfolio. hjoseph7
I never heard of that disease. How does this guy cope being a musician and all ?
peter_phan
This photog is a jerk, plain and simple. He gives a bad name to all event photographers. It's bad enough that he used flash when it was clearly not allowed. But it's even worse that he flicked the singer off. That is just doubly rude. Uhooru
I never heard of that disease. How does this guy cope being a musician and all ? Apparently he does in spite of thick as a brick jerks like sale. He really doesn't have the expertise to determine if flash from his distance will have a negative effect. He's just attempting to justify why he acted like selfish idiot.
