  1. Saw this article and reflected on why things are getting so tough for professionals. I haven't even tried getting credentials to shoot a show in ages. This guy isn't helping make it any easier. 2. Another thing to consider is the newer FX cameras like the D600 have a DX mode for DX lenses.
  3. The Tamron 24-70/2.8 is pretty damn good. It pretty much lives on my D600. I've used the Nikon 24-70 before, but the weight and lack of VR (unlike the Tamron) just didn't justify the cost for me since I'm not a pro.
  4. I've had similar experience with charitable work. Tried to get involved with Help Portrait, but got shut out (the guy organizing included people he knew and didn't even respond to other volunteers). Another local organization posted a request for help covering one of their events, so I volunteered. After spending the night taking candid shots at a fundraiser I sent the photos to their media person. Pictures were all posted at their website and Facebook page, and there was no thanks and not even photo credit. I just shrugged it off since it was for charity anyways, but it definitely left me with a bad taste in my mouth.
