Salutations,
I hope you've been able to make the most of the week with pleasant times in nature. We'll jump right in this week. This vast stand of Lycopodium lucidulum is still growing strong through the leaf litter. It may be a winter of surprises in the local woodlands.

Maybe this Monday will be full of surprises from nature. Have a great day, everyone.

00dgJQ-560182184.JPG.ef00d494b8929e3c457e4a438f8650b1.JPG

Thanks, Rick. That's one of the things I like about this picture, it looks like it could have been taken through a microscope. Although the growths were small (a couple of inches at most), they were visible to the naked eye. For this shot, I didn't even use a macro lens. --Sally

Fine shots from everyone! The breadth of interest shown in MiN is inspiring. Here is a shot taken in the floodplain of my local river which is a tributary of the Thames. In summer this small river can be easily forded and carries less than a cubic metre per second. But in a wet winter such as we are seeing now the flow rises to 50 times that or more and the floodplain gets very soggy.

00dgKy-560185884.jpg.6ab10385465bdf1b819eb78fb0c004ed.jpg

It's always either spring or fall or summer here in S Florida. Gets confusing sometimes. Anyway... We had some nice fog roll in this past Saturday. I was lucky enough to get to a park before it succumbed to the sun and grab a few shots. I added the tint but the scene was otherwise as I saw it. It was my first outing with my new Gitzo GT3542. Very nice platform.
