  1. The red eye flight takes me from one place and time to another where a new day begins. Hopefully we'll all land in 2023 in comfort and start the year with good coffee, friends, and plenty of photo opportunities. Those familiar with the landscape will recognize Oakland, CA below. The brightest light mid-frame is a stadium.
  2. Feeling a bit ship wrecked near Pistol River on the Oregon coast.
  3. Telegraph Road by Dire Straits
  4. Duckweed escorts fallen leaves into the dark waters of a nearby waterway where they will continue in the great circle of life. Soon all will freeze and the landscape will be transformed as winter takes hold.
  5. Our autumn color is gone and we're left with a landscape in the tonal values of pumpkin pie, roast turkey and whipped cream. Happy Thanksgiving to all.
  6. But this thread isn't about your priorities. We all want functional galleries. As I've said in the past, they will either fix it or not. I'm done asking about it. As its for nudes, we should have a choice of opting in or out. It's a statement of fact, not a complaint and your comment comes off like a dismissal. We shouldn't even have to discuss it. Life is short and I've got better things to do. Luca is hilarious and I appreciate the levity.
  7. It would be nice to have an across the site opt out from nudes, like we had before. They are both blurred and crystal clear on any given day on the front page of the site, for me at least. Or, maybe people could start posting nudes of men. That might balance things out, or be entertaining, if we can't opt out completely.
  8. A more traditional view of autumn color. Jon Eckman got his snow last night.....well, at least we got his snow.😇
  9. Hey Jon, Let's get through the hurricane coming up here this weekend first.😁
  10. Tupelo (Nyssa sylvatica) stands out in the chaotic color of autumn. It is among the first trees to change and the deep orange red leaves seem to glow in any light.
  11. Thanks Glenn. It's kind of you to say. I never underestimate the power of a cloud. I think I've seen a couple of images from your session with the fog on the Snake River. Bravo! Jon Eckman's image this week is another I wish I'd taken.
  12. Mickey, Yakima! That's a lot of steps. I was unaware of public portfolios. Thank you for the incredible effort. Coincidently, my husband posted to the public Macro forum, so we looked at his gallery. Yes, those images are there. But, this isn't a viable solution. We should be able to add a photo to our own gallery/portfolio/album from within our own profile, and then have control over it's display. I'm looking at other options like Flickr. If anyone is missing a photo it might be in my, or my husband's gallery under "Image Comments". Page after page of other folk's images we both made comments on.
  13. Greetings Mickey, Thanks for the consideration. I did not have images in any portfolio/gallery/album on the old site. I didn't lose anything. I don't have any trouble finding the gallery section. The current and ongoing problem for me, as stated above, is that I have no mechanism by which to add a photo to any heading in the Gallery section. I get a box that says "there's nothing here yet" There are the little boxes for sorting, but no means to add an image. Also stated above, images belonging to OTHER PEOPLE are currently in MY gallery under the heading "Image Comments". I made comments on them years ago, but they should not be in MY gallery. These images need to be with their owner. There is no way to get rid of them. There are 3 pages of images that don't belong to me ranging from 2012 - 2017. (I stated 10 years worth in error) I have looked in the galleries of other people and I don't see this situation anywhere else. Currently the Gallery/portfolio/album section of this site is totally nonfunctional for me. What's the point of having a "Gallery" but not being able to hang a picture in it? I'm not going to ask again about this. I've done so enough times. The powers that be will either fix it, or not.
  14. This was taken yesterday in the Deep Creek area of Green Lane Park, eastern PA between Allentown and Philadelphia. Red oaks, sycamore, red maple, birchs, dogwood, hickory are all at peak color. Some tupelo still have leaves. Many vines like Virginia creeper have a lot of color. The understory is also very colorful with Vaccinium and Viburnum acerifolium at peak. White oaks, locusts, beech, walnut, butternut, Norway Maple are all coming on.
  15. I saw this update shortly after it was posted and I'm sure it will come as a relief for many. The change in my own gallery certainly came as a surprise. I still have no mechanism to add a photo to any heading under Gallery. However, under "Image Comments" there are photos by other people that I commented on over the last 10 years. I have no use for this. So, the only image content in MY gallery is not mine and I see no way to get rid of it. When will the means to have a fully functioning gallery come about? I've asked about this privately, now I'm asking here.
  16. You're probably asking the wrong people. Many are in the same boat as you. Try asking mjensen directly and see if you get an update, answer, relief, belly rub, or nothin' at all. But, it's usually a good policy to not invite guests until you have a place for them to arrive. Since Dustin can open one of your images in a gallery something is happening. Stay tuned, maybe more will happen.
  17. When will I be able to put an image into an album/gallery? I can see them and the box says "there's nothing here yet". There is no mechanism for adding an image. I've waited to ask about this, but many people now have galleries from the old site.

When will galleries become a useful feature for all?
