1.
Unfortunately I haven’t known Stephen Penland and his works before. I visited his site now and found a lot of wonderful pictures. He seemed like a great artist and adventurer. Sorry to see him go.
Today I have a colorful sunset over Lake George, Adirondacks, NY.

 2.
Beautiful colors Giovanni. And how did you shoot parade with 6x17? Awesome!
Some spring shots.

 3.
Tony, beautiful landscape. I like this thin ice.
Despite we didn't have good winter this season it's still nice to see like the buds are popping up.

 4.
The spring is here in Upstate NY.

 5.
We didn't have a decent winter, so far we still don't have a decent spring. Here's "wonderful" April.

 6.
When you have such advanced camera as Contax 645 it's always a good idea to use a spare back feature. So, anyhow, does the film advanced properly? Doesn't film advance to 01 frame, or film does advance but the counter doesn't show it? Please clarify.

 7.
Giovanni, I looked at your 6x17 chrome "collection". It's really fascinating. I'm jealous. You definitely mastered panoramic format.

 8.
The spring has arrived early. Last ice...

 9.
Mary Doo: beautiful leopard! It was really your lucky moment.

 10.
Eventually we've got snow this winter...

 11.
Well, flowers are good. But it’s February and we’re still supposed to have winter. This picture from one of the very rare snowy day shot somewhere in the Adirondack Park.

 12.
I’ve also got Canonscan 9000f Mark II and those blotchy images look familiar to me. Basically I have same issue with most of C-41 emulsions (included Chromogenic) especially in the areas with uniform colors and contrast, similar to what William has. I cannot suspect film by any meaning – I brought same negs to my local prolab and they scanned using Fujifilm Frontier. All images came out clean and crisp. Once I read that using Vuecan might solve this issue. However as William mentioned he is using Vuescan also and it looks like it’s not helping much. Pretty much sure that this is Scanner/Software issue and has to be addressed directly to Canon (but not sure how).

 13.
Glowing sky at cold weather.

 14.
Sunset from Cascade Mt., Adirondacks.

 15.
Sunset over Eastern Adirondacks in January.

 16.
Thanks Peter. But it looks like the storm Jonas is not going to reach us – I’m far north in Upstate NY. But at least it’s cold now. well, again just seasonably cold. No much excitement. And when the winter is like this I just would like to do what you want to: ask Bill to pack me in his luggage and bring me to Makapuu Beach. I love those puffy clouds!

 17.
If you can find Precisa for 40% cheaper that Provia 100F go for it. I used Precisa for a couple times shooting at the box speed. It's a beautiful film, pretty much same as Provia. Didn't find any quality issue.

 18.

If you use the 400X at times with very unusual lighting, such as near sunset, I suspect the difference will be much less noticeable.

I probably disagree with this. Near sunset time (or so called Golden Hours) and twilight are the best time to use 400X. it's where the 400X shines. It comes with pristine blues and bright yellow and reds. When I travel it is the only film I use during this time of a day. The 100F lacks of visual impact and creates some sort of blue/magenta cast. May be it is possible to use the matrix to correct the color but personally I prefer to use the right film based on the lighting conditions.
But as a Rule of Thumb the slower film is always better than high ISO one. So if you don't need high ISO don't use it. 19.
This winter we don’t have much snow and the temperature is pretty mild. January looks more like November. Anyhow let’s do some seasonable stuff.

Troy, NY

 20.
Thanks Laura for giving us facts about those great people. They contributed a lot to our history and culture. Well, now we all have our cameras and make our contribution to MiN.
Sunset at Lake George.
