    Wild REdtail Hawk

Bob S. ---this was indeed a wild hawk. He attacked one of my falconry hawks as she sat on her outdoor yard perch being sunned. They caught each other, neither wanting to release their hold and I simply took a falconer's glove and caught this one. Photographed it, force fed it, and released him, ---somewhat wiser I hope about captive falconry birds being weathered on sunlit perches outside.

----great lighting for mood. Is this the same lady earlier in your presentations who was dressed

    in bridal attire?

----the barred tail identify it as a first yr. juvenile bird. They sometimes are not as wary as the adults, whose tails are usually solid color of a shade of red. They almost invariably take off into any existing wind. www.photo.net/photodb/folder?folder_id=244397

--obviously photoshopped, but nice effect. I was expecting a bird (poule deau) or mud hen as the French Acadians called them.
  1. --nice catch, Greg. If you remember, however, the topside of the wings are more colorful than the underside ----a 3/4 turn half open wing position

is the best in my opinion to capture both surfaces. They won't take 'Ques' very well so we must take what we can get unless you just wana burn half a roll quickly hoping one will do that in the process. ;-)) Again, nice shot. The 'orange

sulphur ' would have been even a better prize on the color of coneflower you have.;-)
