-nice shot of the bird, Monty. Unfortunately, the background and feeder are distracting. Difficult subject with wingbeats at 70 per second. Art. flowers hung on the feeder can sometimes disguise it and result in a more natural shot?

----sitting in a lawn chair quietly, this dude paid no attention to

me amid a bed of zinnias. Cropping slightly resulted in almost

centering --but to off center would have required cropping of one

wing.!! Solution??

--reply to S.G. --the original photo was toplit, the flower being overexposed and washed out. In attempts in Photo Shop (actually Ulead) program color adjustments I was playing with effects to

get flower to it's true color. !! This is the results. Want me to post the original?

---male ruby-throat on a shaded perch in a bush. In order to get the

irridescent throat to shine, I used a fill flash. (Usually it is

black) Backlighting provided ample light in the shady bush.

--circular polarizer prevented the unwanted reflections?
