---any cropping past the semi-circular branches
that frame the bird would make the icy 'feel' go away. It was not cropped ---might see what it would look like cropped tight. But monochromatic
ice color/red color balance is about right in the original , I think!!
-
----ditto, rich colors. Are dawns also this colorful??
-
-
---recropping? Not particularily JOe. My observation is that "one who pleases everyone, pleases no one" Take it or leave it!!;-))

---salty, marine shots like this appeal to me. (Rat lines on a square rigger/)But as first commentor, --loose the date.!!
-
---carpe diem, ---captured the moment. 12 gua. pump shotgun is good deterrent for Pit Bull problem. Wound pattern on dog indicates use of
buckshot, ====very effective.

--poignant and thought provoking Alan.!! Nice lighting and composition. Overgrown highways also provoke this emotion.

--very lovely , Sergei!!
-
---priceless timing, Sergei!! ;-))

---neat shot, Alexi. I like the way the circle of
birds is matched with brick/manhole pattern just above them. Had they found food or perhaps a pool of water (melted snow) that attracted them to the spot?

nice workover, Arthur. But with that much time spent ,personally I would have just finished the contour of the owl over the 'dead wood' with a mixed blend of dark browns/beige/blacks.??
-
---tri-colored heron?
-
----windshield wipers --keeping up a rhythm with the radio??

Faux Monet?

---hmmmm ---thanks for the comments ---wonder if I could add 'catchlight' in photoshop???

---simplicity is it's own reward at times, Phil.
The empty spaces actually have a wispy cloud (sky) and 3 ducks (water) that breaks the monotony
of the scene regardless of the nice colors.
