  1. I just found FRANK'S address and phone number. FRANK MARSHMAN 1495 NEEDMORE LANE HARRISONBURG, VA,22802 PHONE 540-434-8133
  2. I spoke with FRANK two weeks ago, he is still working.
  3. Thank you for the information The self timer issue may be normal with the TEMPOR, mine also feels strange compared to PRONTORS and COMPURS of mine it has to be pushed hard to set..
  4. I know the lens is LUDWIG,I cited TEMPOR as an additional request for information wanted. It does have the tower logo. How do I determine the number of elements? What is your opinion of the overall quality of the camera? I'm aware that it is not the same quality of my 1937 VOIGTLANDER BESSA or AGFA BILLY COMPURS.
  5. I'm seeking information about this camera circa 1957/58 BEIR BEIRAX II, 105 mm 4.5 E. LUDWIG MERITAR TEMPOR shutter. What is the lens quality and is the shutter a COMPUR or PRONTOR equivalent? I believe that the EAST GERMANS copied shutters. E. LUDWIG was an EAST GERMAN company.
  6. What the hell! It stands on it's own merits very well.
  7. I used what I believe you had. in my LEICA M-3 in the '60's. It was AGFACHROME and came with a mailer. It was an excellent film, a bit on the warm side as opposed to KODAKCHROME.
  8. Thank you, for clearing this up for me, I had searched websites, all said LEITZ lenses were not coated until after WW II.
  9. WRONG!!!!! Educate yourself. Check photo dealers and auction sites and you will find the prices to be $1,000 or more depending upon condition. Given that the original M-3 cost under $300 I would venture to guess that intention notwithstanding LEICA cameras have proven to be investments.
  10. I have a 1937 90mm ELMAR that appears to have a light coating. I know that LEITZ did not coat lenses at that time but it does show some bluish color. I checked on heavily overcast days to ensure no blue sky and it still shows bluish. Could it possibly be bloomed?
  11. I bought my 1955 LEICA M-3 with a 50mm 2.8 collapsible ELMAR in 1968 for$145.00 had it overhauled by LEITZ, N.J. a few years later including converting to single stroke and many other things such as shutter curtains, cams, etc as I recall, (a bit foggy memory at 80) that cost was $250.00. My how things have changed!.
  12. A few do appreciate for example my 1955 LEICA M-3 with 50 mm 2.8 ELMAR purchased in 1968 for $145.00.
  13. I'm trying to find the model of my IKOFLEX. It has an OPTON TESSAR T lens serial number 21498 which I have learned dates it to the mid 1950's.and made at OBERCHOKEN, GERMANY. The body serial number is 5209108.
  14. I would like to be able to converse with c_watson when in time his digital machine is defunct and is an expensive paperweight while my LEICA M-3 film camera is still functional and using roll upon roll of film. Please c_watson reply to me when the inevitable occurs.
  15. c_watson appears to have not only an inflated ego but also an anger management problem.
  16. My, my I seem to have opened up a PANDORA'S BOX for nasty replies. I merely stated a fact, film is enjoying a resurgence, admittedly small however steady. It is interesting to find so many angry self righteous people on a photo forum..
  17. As I said ask at your photo dealer. Film is enjoying a slow resurgence and is said by many that it will
  18. Des anyone have an opinion/review of this lens?
  19. "Film era"? Check photo shops regarding sales of film. Sales are picking up, in fact some film manufacturers are increasing production and adding emulsions.as many younger people are getting into film, possibly found mom's or dad's old camera and tried it or just tired of their digital or phone cameras. I believe that your RB-67 will give you more satisfaction than your digital camera, plus you will always have negatives from which to print after your digital files have been accidentally erased never to be retrieved. The RB-67 will be useful long after your digital camera has become a non functioning paperweight.
  20. I have an IKOFLEX ll with lever focus the lens a TRIOTAR 7.CM 1:3.5.The serial number 2020836 dates it to 1937 which would indicate that it is not coated. However it has color that looks similar to an oil slick on water. Should it be cleaned and does it affect images?
  21. Do not discount the ZEISS/IKON IKOFLEX which is very well built, some say over engineered that will have either a CARL ZEISS NOVAR or TESSAR. Check the NATIONAL CAMERA website, they often have IKOFLEX cameras for as little as $70.00. You can phone them and request that someone pull the camera from stock and give you a description of it. You can find free manuals at butkus.org. I say free, all that he asks is a small contribution of about @3.00.
  22. I have used a triplet with outstanding results for fifty years wide open and stopped down, a LEITZ 50MM 2.8 ELMAR. ..
