Hello Ned
I am liking very much your stark, black and white architectural studies of modern architecture. There is something a little unnerving about this one, as some of the verticles appear oddly curved in a way that is not consistent with the usual distortion that is seen in this type of photography - this is intriguing!
If I were to offer a critisism, I would say that I would like to see a little more sharpness of focus in the image, otherwise I think that this is great.
Fond regards, Nick.

Hello Martyn.
I would have liked to have seen the legs and feet for a more aesthetic shot. The B&W was however the right choise!
Regards, Nick.

Hello Ed
All you need is a resently shot corpse next to these bags, and you would have a classical Weegee shot!
...I like your style!
Nick.

Hello Lou Ann
There is something wonderfully peaceful about this image - sort of a road to nowhere, yet clearly the distant mountains are "somewhere". Gosh, what a wonderful world we live in, and what wonderful photographs in this folder.
I will be back soon.
Regards, Nick.

Hello Mark
I love the haunting quality that you have brought to this decrepit old wreck. Your manipulation of colour suits the mood perfectly, and the "For Sale" sign adds vital humour. If I were to have a critisism of this, it would be to want this sign to be a little more prominant within the frame - otherwise, perfect.
Fond regards, Nick.

Hello Salvatore
Your title expresses this scene perfectly, and perfect is a word that may be used to describe the image itself!
Fond regards, Nick.

Hello Salvatore
Another great image, yet the alternative interpretation in this folder is the masterwork!
Regards, Nick.

Hello Salvatore
This is a great photograph, yet I would have been tempted to hone in upon the rays of sunlight more closely - dose a closer crop change the mood?
Regards, Nick.

Hello Salvatore
A lesser photographer would have been tempted to include the actual buildings in the photograph, your genious was to not!

It is only my taste, and I am probably in the minority, but to me the out of focus areas behind, and particularly in front of the subject, only serve as a distraction in this otherwise most pleasing image.

Hello Lorenzo.
- I love what you have done here with depth of field! This is an image that works well in B&W, and in particular, with the high contrast that you have achieved in this composition!
Regards, Nick.

Hello Andres
...a touching scene. Your studious subject at first appears out of place as a result of my western predudice, then I realise that the building in the background is probably a school, and ubiety is restored!
...well observed, and thought provoking image!
Regards, Nick.

Hello Pat
A very pleasent study of corruption and decay. To my mind, the burnt out area behind the bridge only serves to heighten the mood - well exposed!
Regards, Nick.

Hello Mellisa.
He is indeeed a fine beast, and one who looks rather cold! (I assume this is a zoo, or perhaps you are indeed bold!). The only draw-back in your image for me, is the patch of blurred brown under the beast's chin - I find this a little distracting - could it be cloned out?
Regards, Nick.

Hello Greg.
You have created a wonderful atmosphere here. The windswept feel of the snow has been captured well, and the low contrast of your image enhances this effect and mood.
...is this an "as was photograph", or is there manipulation? - either way, it's great!

I would value your comments and observations. I would particularly like to know your
opinions in comparrison to the similar shot of the same crater in the Iceland folder - Nick.

Thanks Pete
You were quite right about the other photograph of this remarkable place! - I only wish that the van was red or orange, as it is a little lost in the snow (this may of course be a good thing). You are right about the light, but it was sunrise rather than sunset - but I wasn't up very early as the sun rises in Iceland in December at about 10.30am!
Fond regards, Nick.

I love the vertical submission, and feel as though it has more power (for me at least!)
