Thanks David - I agree totally about the sharpness!
Regards, Nick.

Hello Lols
This is wonderfully observed, I think that it is the shallow depth of field, coupled with the low camera angle that makes this so successful!
7/7

Hello Samir
This is quite fantastic - the saturated colours work very well, and the simplicity of form is staggering!
7/7 - superb!
Regards, Nick.

Hello J.
There is a strange and touching serenity here - I cannot put my finger on what it is that makes it so poignant, but I think that it has something to do with the light!
Regards, Nick.

Just a bit of fun - what do you think?

Hello Vincent.
There is good subtlety of form in this image. The photograph pleasingly appears to obey the "zone system" with regards to the greyscale, and the range is superb. However what makes this a successful image for me is the contrast between the included trees - great form.
Regads, Nick.

Hello Larry
You have captured great humour with these Geese, creating something quite wonderful from a subject that for me at least is usually at best mundane!
Well done for capturing a descisive moment of both humour and dynamism - and all the better for being in near monochrome!
Regards, Nick.

...again, the eldrich quality adds to the unnerving subject matter - the hint of a hand gun, the suggestion of the Americal flag - all melting away into a post ironic cathode-ray haze - a comment upon our times perhaps?
I love it!
Regards, Nick.

I am a little disturbed by the converging verticals here - is it worth correcting them in photoshop?

Was it windy? / Handheld?
It is a beautiful flower, but a shame not to be in sharp focus.

Hello jf
The dynamic quality here is superb. The warmth of the skin tones counterbalance the dark shadows wonderfully adding an enigmatic element to this very pleasing image!
Regards, Nick.

Hello J
I love the feeling of expance here. I cannot however workout whether the exclusion of the horizon was a master-stroke or a foible?
...a master-stroke I think
Regards, Nick.

Hello Adam
Congratulations on having the balls to be different. Concentrating on the reflection, and ignoring the scene was a master-stroke!
Regards, Nick.

Hello Kirill
You have a keen eye for an interesting abstract. My only critisism is that I would have been tempted to wipe the glass above the ice as I find the little hair just right of centre a little distracting.
Regards, Nick.

Hello Etan
The simplicity of form here is what makes this such a successful image (also the muted colours compliment each other beautifully). Also I love the way you have made the image distortion of the lens an integral and important part of the composition.
...I love this self-aware form of image - it is "pure photography"
7/7
Regards, Nick.

Hello Paolo
This is a fantastic capture, and beautifully exposed. Is it in the wild - bonus points if it is! The eyes are the nidus of the shot, it is only a slight shame that he wasn't looking more directly at you so that both eyes were fully visible, but this is a minor foible - as is the log, which is a little distracting - otherwise perfect!
6/6
Regards, Nick.

Hello Pete, I don't care what you say about your scanner - this is superb!
Faultless - 7/7
I would be proud to have this on my wall, its just my kind of shot!
Best wishes, Nick.

Hello Pete
This is one of my stepfathers favorite pubs, you would have liked it if you had gone in, however, did you know that the landlord has been fined for excluding a Guide Dog? - strange but true, and odd as he is know as a good chap - Noone knows if it was political correctness gone mad, or unfair discrimination?
There is great depth of field with your inclusion of the period lampost......taken from the walls I asume?
Your photograph captures Victorian Chester well, and without the "Ahead Only" sign, and in sepia it would have a timeless appeal, although I do love the colourful sign and blackboard.
Nick.

Upper or Lower?
Hi Pete, I haven't been home for ages, and my mind seems to be going as I cannot place these boxes, unless they are at the crossroads with Pepper Street and Grosvenor Street?
Enough nostalgia...this image is quintisentially Enhlish, after all where else could this have been taken?
Fond regards, Nick.
