salvatore.mele 1 Posted September 12, 2005 Shot in Norway from above a bridge connecting the fishermen hamlet of Hennigsvaer, in the Lofoten islands, with another island. Thunderstorms had chased each other all day, and seemed like to continue so. I liked the light, the clouds, the sea... all conjured to look very Lofoten to me, but this means I cannot fully detach from this shot and evaluate it. The question is whether there is enough in this composition to make a worthwile picture. Your comments and insight will be very appreciated. Link to comment
sondra kick 0 Posted September 12, 2005 Salvatore, this is a beautiful image, the lighting is lovely and almost eerie. Good work, Sondra 6/6 Link to comment

nicholasprice 0 Posted February 11, 2006 Hello Salvatore This is a great photograph, yet I would have been tempted to hone in upon the rays of sunlight more closely - dose a closer crop change the mood? Regards, Nick. Link to comment
salvatore.mele 1 Posted February 14, 2006 Nick, I've toyed a lot with the crop of this image, at the time of submission and right now after reading your post. The fact is that to me -having been there and experienced the scene- the magic of the light was all in the negation of the light everywhere else: without all the darkness and clouds, the rays lose most of their drama. So, something to the bottom and the right has to stay. Without the blue sky the darkness is not so dark, so that has to stay as well, and I liked the iland and did not want to crop it... so I cannot decide what to do with this ... What would you suggest? salvatore.mele 1 Posted February 14, 2006 This loses the horizontal lines of the clouds and the sea... but might work... Link to comment
nicholasprice 0 Posted February 14, 2006 I love the vertical submission, and feel as though it has more power (for me at least!) Regards, Nick. Link to comment
