  1. Maybe I have just been lucky but I have never had any problems photographing on the streets. What was surprising to me is that the safest place I have been to is China. I was in Shanghai, X'ian and Beijing and took a lot of pictures. I have never been anywhere that the people were nicer or more open. The only problem was that because I took so many pictures I ran out of film. Not easy to find film in China.
  2. "]Well, think of it this way, in most big cities, you wouldn’t be the only guy fiddling around with his equipment on the street . . . Good one. I should really read before I post. Left myself open for that one. As for carrying a gun: Where the hell do you guys go? One of my personal rules is that I don’t go anywhere that I would need a firearm. I have been photographing on the street for 50 years all around the world and never had to shoot anyone.
  3. One camera, 35mm lens, 28mm lens, film. I usually don't carry a bag just put everything in my pockets. I find that if I take too much stuff I spend to much time fiddling around with my equipment.
  4. I got mine new in about 1990 and have never had a problem with it. I have all 3 lenses for it and my favorite is the 50 mm. I have used it a lot and all it ever needed was a fresh battery every few years.
  5. I agree with Moving On. Put all of the film in a clear plastic bag and have it hand inspected. I had no problems in the U.S. or China.
  6. If she does not want to be seen she should stay at home and not be on Facebook.
