    Rural Life

Dear J Perez, Sorry for not answering you before. I'm very glad that you've liked this image and it's true that goats are very special animals, the mixture of sheep and goat's milk gives cheese a special flavour. Thank you very much for your pleasant visit, your positive comment and your rating. Kindest regards!, Laura Marco

    Rural Life

Long time ago, I've heard that a character who lived in the middle of a desert, had one of the largest diamonds in the world, but ... finally he changed it for a herd of goats. Here we've got, "the paradox of value", diamonds mean death in such an extreme place on Earth and goats, on the other hand ... mean life. For him, goats had more value. Thus, the value of things will depend on the use we make of them. A life... like in this image in the middle of nature, a simple one... has certainly the same value as a diamond. There is also cosmopolitan people, who love technology, then this mineral would be more important for having better equipments or just decorate the neck of a woman, since there're faucets that give us water all day and "stores 24 hours". Everything is relative. Value is a relative issue. I had a great time photographing goats, watching them eat, pee in front of me without any shame!, and what is not peeing! ... those beautiful big eyes. Hope you like it! please click to enlarge the image and see the colours better, thank you!. Many kisses.

    Fish in Heaven

Dear Pierre, The colours in this image catch my attention, above all the blue all-enveloping, water and sky and the yellow reflections. Yes, these fishes are called "scalar", I have a small aquarium and I know them, they're territorial, fighting for their space. I think the fact that all fishes swim in one direction indicates "determination", "clear thinking" on your side, you've arranged them that way. Then, I feel sorry for the fisherman ... he reminds me of "The Old Man and the Sea" by Ernest Hemingway. Alone, nature, man and the sea. Any fish, a struggle, alone with his moral, his strength and his solitude. The trunk alone reinforces this sense of loneliness. I like very much, congratulations for the picture! Kindest regards LM.

    Cerise

Dear Henry, Thanks for your kind comment and yes... I love telling stories in the images. I think that when taking a photo, one tries to capture the better way of the composition all at once, one tries to better show others what is watching at that moment but... I first think about a story and then I work in order to take the photos and so to be able to present this previous thought... As if a tale could be made a photo!, thanks for your feedback on this image, it encourages me to go on :) Thank you! and kindest regards, Laura Marco.

    light

Dear Sue, I love the contrast between light and darkness and even more if the light is warm, like in this case. There are many who advocate the rule that there should be no more than 10% black space with no detail, but ... the rules are to be broken, sometimes ... Here, the contrast creates a very intimate and deep atmosphere. There is a Spanish painter, Goya, which has a "black period" of dark paintings. It is said that i'ts due to his decline getting older, but I think it's a reflection of his mood, a reflection of his soul definetely, full of contrasts. Personally, I love the shadows, the contrast of lights. Very Original, I love it!. Congrats!, kindest regards, Laura Marco.

    Come and Gone

Dear Henry, The image conveys me closeness and intimacy. The ocher and orange tones ... make it a place very intimate and close. The texture also makes it look like an old room, lost in time and our eyes keep staring at the empty dishes and cup, thinking about the person who was there a moment ago. It draws my attention particularly the loneliness of the sugar bowl. I love the soft lights, where nothing is over or underexposed. Like a nice picture hunging in a wall. Congrats! a very beautiful image. Kindest regards, Laura Marco.

    Measuring the time

Esperanto? In fact, I don't like it because it means the death of the great variety and richness of languages all around the world. I recommend you "Problems in the origins and development of the English language" by John Algeo. In my opinion, it's the best. Very interesting to read. According to him, Slavic languages are: Polish, Czech, Slovak, Rusian, Slovenian etc. English has a west Germanic origin. Ummmm... we were talking about "time and how to measure the one that measures us" Kindest regards and have a nice day! Laura Marco pd. I do pay all taxes! :) http://www.cahier-brouillon.com/indoeuropean%20languages.jpg

    Measuring the time

Dear Pierre, I wanted to say: chapeau! meaning Bravo! for french people :) I was claiming credit for your achievement, for your idea. We two come from the Indoeuropean and Centum languages. I... from Italic languages, you... from Germanic ones, but... With William the Conqueror, there was an astounding loan of french words into the english language. So we've got similar words :) enter into a room (germanic origin - come into) / entrer dans la chambre FR / entrar en la habitación ES You speak many words due to this period, 1066. We've got many things in common! Sorry for this bla-bla-bla... I'm philologist! Photonet has not got enough hosting for me to write about languages and the origins and development. They'll close my account for sure... jajaja Thank you for your reply, kindest regards! Laura Marco

    Blue heart

Dear Rosario, Congratulations for this photo, a stunning macro!. What I like the most is the difference that is achieved by joining two colours so different in luminance or density that's to say: beautiful blue in the center and the white petals. The higher the contrast to the eye, the higher the acutance, and it's better perceived central sharpness. The center hasn't got more resolution than the rest, I think... that are our eyes which rush to the heart of the flower, to distinguish the details thanks to the contrast of colour. Congratulations, beautiful colours!. For me... perennial yet timeless beauty. Kindest regards, Laura Marco

    Bound to Earth

Dear Michael, Thanks for your encouraging words: "...you do this as well as any I've seen," you make me smile and leave me a very good taste in the mouth! :) The best I've been told to encourage me to continue! you're very kind. Thank you for your positive comment & feedback and nice visit. Kindest regards, Laura Marco

    Bound to Earth

Dear Rosario, Thank you for your pleasant visit, your nice critique and positive perception of the work. It encourages me to continue creating new images. Yes, the forlorn and broken roof definitely gives a strong sense of freedom. These birds come from Africa, in this season the countryside is full of them and their melodious chants. I love watching them flying and even fighting!. Thanks for your positive feedback and kindest regards! Laura Marco

    In the lobby of hell

Dear Pierre, master of all symmetries, cubic forms etc. Hell? Where? Where are the flames, bitter tears, pain, sulfur fumes? You... who have created the image, wait for a moment... look at the center, there is a fresh, tiny face: two eyes, a round nose and a similing mouth with a little beard or long hair, the mouth is like a half moon, besides the two little ears around closing the composition, it seems the pretty face of a puppy!. The man thinks whether to enter? really? I would not doubt... if it's this kind of lobby to hell, it looks as good as "Highway to Hell" by AC / DC, and these good feelings and adrenaline like in the song... there, we all go! I like the tones of the colours, no large dark areas without any details and the man remains in one third. I would take a look at this hell really, one look at your lobby, ain't no fear :) I think you're not thinking about hell, you're in peace with yourself! Congrats for the image! Kindest regards, Laura Marco

    Measuring the time

Dear Pierre, Apart from the technical side that is very good, for me the best of the work is the idea you've used. It's spliting hairs very good, the way of wanting to measure time itself, which is the one that measure ourselves. The idea is chapeau! I don't know if I have used the correct expression! I hope so! The idea has got a lot of merit! Congrats! Kindest regards, Laura Marco.

    Bound to Earth

Dear Pierre, Thank you for your nice visit and interesting comment on this image. Yes, I've been writing fewer reviews lately, but always taking a look at all pictures... (your good tiny grasshopper and the machiavellian one, I prefer the last one; your skies pink coloured , very interesting, hats shaped like a spiral staircase, you're still the magician of symmetry etc), because I do not want to comment always and by that way... making others feel compelled to comment on me too, I freely admit I'm a bit strange! :) Well, thank you! for your 7, that could only come from you. Long time, I did not enjoy any, heartfelt thanks because I believe you give it, when the work deserves it. Besides, I totally agree with you, the birds and other animals should live freely. Sorry about the parrot that flies away, I don't know if freedom would be better at last than being by your side. I love walking in the countryside, there're beautiful places left in ruins, but not dirty; ideal for photographing. The place in the photo has a broken roof, so I did feel it like no cage, bee-eaters can come and go as they please. These birds live in tunnels in earth walls, you can see the holes. The woman is momentary, is Mother Earth that has gone out, materialized to greet them because if not, they would be alone. Enter and fly away, she's for a short moment in the hall of their tunelled houses, they have not lost their freedom. That freedom that you defend and me too! Thanks for everything, for your comment too, your note and your visit so enjoyable. Thank you very much indeed! Kindest regards, Laura Marco.

    Bound to Earth

Outside, it's already night and it's slightly cold. The bee-eaters return to their holes in the earth. Safe and warm burrows, tunnelled into the side of the sandy wall. They don't like the cold, so they will soon migrate to warmer lands, they'll go to more meridian places, in consonance with its colourful plumage, made to shine under the sun. Mother Earth is coming out to greet them. She's quiet and serene, spending her time with them. It's difficult to see her in the surface... in a human shape. So, it's a unique moment of closeness. Birds and Mother Earth rest easy, confident, being the same thing, the same natural link. And we all will get back there, returning to those soft and warm colours, to this refuge and calmness that is the Earth. I do not feel like going outside, I prefer to watch them together in this safe place, and you?...

    Collage

Hi Bill, I'm really glad to see you again uploading new images. There must be a lot of work behind this collage, to arrange all photos; They are very nice. A sweet medley. And the small girl is a charm, a little doll! Congratulations! Very glad to have you back posting your Works! Greetings from Spain. Laura Marco

    Godecia

Thanks Bill for giving the correct name to the line!. I got the wrong name , I'm not really good at Maths jaja... I was a student from Arts :) but the important thing is to be able to see, the way our eyes go when looking at images. In this case, the eyes begin by looking at the left side in the bottom, then go and go... to finish ... at the right side, at the top of the image. At a first sight and done very quickly, so it's a nice idea to arrange the way we want to direct the gaze. And the diagonal line gives a special charm to Portella's image. Kindest regards and thank you!, Laura Marco.

    grain

Dear Sue, I really like the bottom of the photograph, the blur is very interesting. The central part of the image has got too many lines that we do not know what they really are, it seems as if the plant was part of a greenhouse and the lines were part of the structure at the background. So strange! The top at the right, in my opinion, has got a very strong light out. Overall, this image catches my attention!. Especially the blur. Congratulations. Kindest regards. Laura Marco.

Dear Rosario, I don't know these flowers, but they're of a singular beauty. The flowers, especially below the image, seem as they were painted like in watercolour, such delicate... they look. They remind me of wild carnations, or almond flowers, but they aren't really the same... The perpendicular which directs our gaze in the photo, it's a success. I miss some very gentle shade on the delicate background, but it's my own way of looking at photos, because the picture is already lovely. Congrats! Kindest regards, Laura Marco
