1. im just about to start using my 5x4 camera its a british mpp with a range finder and focal plane shutter I believe copied from the american speed graphic....... the thing is why does the lens only tilt up and not down ....I can modify it to tilt down though .....if need be regards Andrew
 2.
Guys
I bought a hugo meyer model number 4 rangefinder from an anniversary 4x5 speed graphic from e bay
to use on a camera project.
I have read that the model number 4c version is for 127mm on 4x5,
but what focal length is the model number 4 for on 4x5.
There is no stamped focal length on the rangefinder,
could it be for a 135mm lens on 4x5.
regards Andrew

 3.
Hugh
Ijust bought a Topcor 180mm pt f5.6 in a no 0 shutter i thought it would be a more usefull focal length at the minute.
Ive a 150mm Sekor to use instead ,ill get a topcor 150 some other time as it can be closed in the Busche
thanks for your help.
Dann
Remember you advised me a couple of years ago i think, not to modify my Busche Pressman to a graflock back
and that a 620 adapt a roll on the spring back would be better.
well i did it anyway and modified it to a graflock back and filed the filmgate to 6x9cm and use it mostly handheld on the hugo meyer rangefinder with a mamiya press 100mm sekor its a great camera .
well i took note of your advice and bought another busche pressman a few months ago with a kalart rangefinder and left the spring back intact, i just filed the film gate corners square but couldnt find the right size 620 adapt a roll ,so i got one for a 5x4 camera and cut the 5x4 flanges off it with a hacksaw filed it smooth and it works great i use it on the rangefinder for 100-105mm lenses and focus on the ground glass for other focal length lenses and slide the adapt a roll in for the shot its easy to use a great camera too
regards Andrew

 4.
guys
this is the older version and is in a horseman lensboard and is very compact
it has the lens description on the outside of the lens ring
its going to be used in a 6x9 camera
i cant find anything on the net about it except it will cover 5x4
what are your thoughts on this lens
i have the newer 150mm f5.6 version which is a larger lens in a copal shutter for my 5x4
regards Andrew

 5.
guys i got an early ikoflex ii from e bay and it had a film in it with 2 shots taken
i took it out in my darkroom and want to process it
it came from the us im in the uk
the film is a kodak verichrome pan 620 and was being wound on to a metal 120 spool
is this a black and white neg film
it says on the film D-76 at 7 min or Microdol-x at 9 min
is this the kodak d-76 u can buy today
how old is this film and can i process it in ilfosol iii
the camera shutter was seized up all working now lens is perfect
lens serial no 4062554 no number on the camera that i can find
regards Andrew

 6.
guys
remember the old standard rollieflex i got from latvia well i shot a roll and did some 8x10 enlargements and the lens that had a few nicks out of the front surface that i polished with car body work cutting compound produced images that were ever so slightly softish but sort of sharp with a slight glow on contrasting edges
well by chance a shutter lens appeared on e bay and i recognised it as an old standard
i bought it and swapped the taking lens and was sceptical if it would improve the image
well i seem to have got away with it the focus tracking works and the images are sharper and the glow is gone
ive done some other lens swaps on scrappers as i call them from scrap cameras and spare lenses from e bay
1 a zeiss ikoflex novar with rolleiflex vb xenar lenses and the original zeiss shutter installed in it from a vb lens board i got on ebay
2 a zeiss ikoflex automat with minolta rokkor lenses and the minolta shutter with the vb shutter speed ring i put in it from a scrap minolta flex
3 a zeiss ikoflex with mimaya 80mm tlr lens i put the whole unit on the front its a great camera to use
would you guys like to see photos of these and a short technical write up on each
regards andrew

 9.
id like an fd to nex focal reducer
reviews ive read are a couple of years old
flicker say most fd lenses wont fit because of rear protrusion into the reducers lens
id like an eos to nex too with built in iris for some eos lenses I use and om lenses I have with eos adapters
ive looked at the lens turbo ii and camdiox focal reducers the sales pitch on these today doesn't mention they don't work on any of their intended target lenses
the thing is do focal reducers work or not or should I say do their intended lenses actualy fit
are they a gimmick no one buys anymore or not
id realy like to buy one for the full frame effect but im not convinced they work and feel id have to buy one just to see if it does.....only to discover only one of my lenses work on it ...badly
is it true the metabones is the only one that actualy works
Andrew

 10.
guys
ive been looking at the tamron 70-300 di vc usd and a few others
id like a lens at max around £200-300 that's sharp at 300mm and has fastest aperture around f 4.5
id go for the tamron but some reviews say it goes softish at 300mm and others say it doesent
are there any tamron users that can give me advice on this lens or should I go for something else
regards Andrew

 11.
guys
which of these 2 lenses is better than the other in a 6x9 folder
I have an ensign 420 with a realey inaccurate prontor shutter with an ensar lens and I want to put one of these lenses in the camera instead
I have another 420 camera with the same lens but with a good working epsilon shutter which ill keep as standard
since the 420 bodies are so good I think its worth doing
a rodenstock trinar 105mm f 3.5 in a syncro compur shutter
or a steinhell munchen cassar 105mm f3.8 in a prontor shutter
both these shutter lenses i got on e bay a few years ago and are mounted on home made busch pressman size plastic lens boards so im not scrapping any cameras for the shutter lenses
im thinking rodenstock trinar
what do u think the rodenstock or cassar
regards Andrew

 22.
The shutter was cla on this before I took the first photos I just couldn't wait I just had to get it going.
As you can see there was lots of rust I removed including under the film compartment lid leatherette.
The leatherette on the film compartment lid and the sides and just 2 bits on the front had to be replaced
well the 2 bits on the front were missing.
I also put in new light seals
I wet sanded off all the black and polished the brass I made the screws exposed too as I like the look
it was easy to do it just took longer to do than usual
this one will get used its easy to focus not as easy as my c330 f and c3 but still easy enough
hop u like it
seller said it was found in an attic I got it for £12 I think
definitely worth more than that now
regards Andrew
