I only used Ultron from the clamshell Vitessa, and I do find it combine high resolution with medium contrast. I guess that combination help preserve a bit more details in the highlight?

It is a bit like the Rigid Summicron 50/2 for M-mount. And the Ultron is one of my all time favorite lens. Not sure if the Prominent mount version has similar characteristics.

Bruce, have you used the Nokton 50 or the Skopar 50 on the Prominent? Jason Schneider used the declare the Skopar the best of all. I very much admire the Nokton. Here's a shot from it:

  2. I bought a RTS II couples weeks ago with the 50/1.4 and 85/1.4. Really nice camera and lenses...

The body have a nice solid/robust feeling which I enjoy. But the downside is that is a bit hard to hold with just the right hand. Maybe a small grip like F3 would have been handy? But it would have not look has nice/streamlined has it is.

The red led infos really popup well in the bright and large viewfinder.

I like the knobs, push buttons and winder. I’m a mechanical engineer, I like things like that ;)

For the batteries I just bought a pack of 5 for 15$ on Amazon so price and availability don’t seem to be a problem.

Just finished my first roll. Can’t wait to see the pictures.

Post the pics here when they come from the lab.

  3. I just did some Internet research. The film shortage is general in the West. Film sells out faster than the manufacturers can produce it!

I foresee getting a lot more practice on mono film, which is still easy to find.

  4. What if you changed the name of Sunday Streets to Saturday Streets? In most towns, Sunday--especially in the afternoon--is dead. The very mention of Sunday in a photography forum is a drag. Now, Saturday, that means fun! What say?
  5. A 'living statue' accepting small payment for standing around, doing as little as possible?

A phenomenon that is underexposed. One aspect of which that needs more light is why people think it is something deserving a financial reward. They ignore and are annoyed by beggars who are open about their intentions. But think this is a performance that must be rewarded.

The street is full of mystery.

And if these "living statues" spot a camera on you, they run over demanding payment. If you don't fork over, things get nasty.

  6. Gentlemen, thank you all for your suggestions. They paid off, with several hours of work. I spoke to an Indian guy at Adobe, and he stayed with me for two hours clearing the way for the program. But just as we got near payoff, we lost the phone connection. I called back and got an Indian lady. We worked for another hour, and got the download started. When it was

22% complete, a certain lady turned off the computer! Now I tried installing from the disc while I guarded the computer. Success at last. PSE 22 runs smoothly. although it is needlessly complicated. There's going to be a long learning curve. Unless you simply must have shake removal and fog dispersal, stick with what you have.
